That loss of optimism is the most troubling trend he\u2019s seen in nearly 50 years in finance.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-vbsvxt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->\u201cIf future generations don\u2019t feel hopeful about this country and their future in it,\u201d he writes, \u201cthen the U.S. doesn\u2019t only lose the force that makes people want to invest. He acknowledges that Social Security was designed for a time when many workers never lived long enough to collect benefits.
