‘Inaccurate, insulting, inflammatory’ – Andy Burnham condemns Ratcliffe over UK being ‘colonised’ by migrants claim<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n

Andy Burnham<\/strong>, the Labour mayor of Greater Manchester, has joined those criticising Jim Ratcliffe<\/a> over his claim that the UK is being \u201ccolonised\u201d by immigrants.<\/p>\n

Burnham said in a statement<\/a>:<\/p>\n

<\/svg>These comments go against everything for which Manchester has traditionally stood: a place where people of all races, faiths and none have pulled together over centuries to build our city and our institutions, including Manchester United FC.<\/p>\n

Calling for curbs on levels of immigration is one thing; portraying those who come here as a hostile invading force is quite another.<\/p>\n

It is inaccurate, insulting, inflammatory and should be withdrawn.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He also suggested that Ratcliffe has been \u201csiphoning wealth\u201d out of Manchester United<\/a>, while offering \u201clittle contribution\u201d to the city.<\/p>\n
