We stand in solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  w-full  w-full  media--left  media--embed  media--uneven media--tweet\" comes after terrorists of <em>Fitna-al-Hindustan<\/em> carried out a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1970100\/naqvi-holds-india-responsible-for-spate-of-attacks-in-balochistan-ispr-says-92-terrorists-killed\">spate of attacks<\/a> across Balochistan on Saturday, responding to which the security forces killed 92 terrorists.<\/p>\n<p>The state has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1914525\"><u>designated<\/u><\/a> Balochistan-based terrorist groups as <em>Fitna-al-Hindustan<\/em> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1912930#:~:text=The%20term%20%E2%80%98Fitna%20al%20Hindu%C2%ADstan%E2%80%99%20is%20a%20new%20phrase%20coined%20by%20Pakistan%E2%80%99s%20military%2C%20aimed%20at%20framing%20India%E2%80%99s%20alleged%20role%20in%20terrorism%20as%20a%20deliberate%20destabilisation%20strategy%2C%20potentially%20to%20galvanise%20domestic%20support.\"><u>highlight<\/u><\/a> India\u2019s alleged role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the US, the British High Commission, Qatar and Saudi Arabia had also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1970100\/naqvi-holds-india-responsible-for-spate-of-attacks-in-balochistan-ispr-says-92-terrorists-killed#:~:text=The%20British%20High%20Commission%20also%20condemned%20the%20attacks.\">condemned<\/a> the latest terrorist activities.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1849349\">proscribed<\/a> so-called Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has carried out frequent attacks in Balochistan, specifically targeting security forces and law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2025, the US also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1930224\/us-state-department-designates-bla-majeed-brigade-as-foreign-terrorist-organisations\"><u>designated<\/u><\/a> the BLA and its Majeed Brigade squad as foreign terrorist organisations (FTOs).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  w-full sm:w-1\/2  media--right  media--embed  media--uneven\" data-original-src=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1970355\/balochistan-attacks\">\n<div class=\"media__item  media__item--newskitlink  \">    <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1963742\"><u>record militant deaths<\/u><\/a>, Pakistan saw a sharp escalation in militant violence in 2025, with terrorist attacks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1964537\/country-witnessed-34pc-increase-in-terrorism-in-2025\"><u>rising by 34 per cent<\/u><\/a> and terrorism-related fatalities increasing by 21pc year-on-year, according to data released by the Islamabad-based Pak Institute for Peace Studies.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the BLA emerged as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1882568\">key perpetrator<\/a> of terrorist violence in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"we-had-intelligence-reports-cm-bugti\" href=\"#we-had-intelligence-reports-cm-bugti\" class=\"heading-permalink\" aria-hidden=\"true\" title=\"Permalink\"><\/a>We had intelligence reports: CM Bugti<\/h2>\n<p>Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also addressed a press conference in Quetta, sharing details of Saturday\u2019s attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Stating that the state shared their grief, CM Bugti assured the bereaved families that the welfare of the martyrs\u2019 children was the government\u2019s responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had intelligence reports that this kind of operation is being planned, and as a result of those, we had already started pre-operations a day before, in which around 40 terrorists were killed in Shaban and Panjgur,\u201d he detailed.<\/p>\n<p>The chief minister noted that the terrorists had planned to attack Quetta from Shaban, adding that the forces were \u201cvery vigilant\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that 145 terrorists were killed in 40 hours, adding that their bodies were with the authorities. \u201cThis is the highest number since Pakistan is facing this war on terror,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"mopping-up-operation-underway-defence-minister\" href=\"#mopping-up-operation-underway-defence-minister\" class=\"heading-permalink\" aria-hidden=\"true\" title=\"Permalink\"><\/a>\u2018Mopping-up\u2019 operation underway: defence minister<\/h2>\n<p>Separately, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said peace has been established in Balochistan after yesterday\u2019s attacks and security forces were now \u201cengaged in a mopping-up operation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this moment in time, peace has been established, and the coordinated attack has been repulsed completely, and they (terrorists) have retreated,\u201d Asif said while addressing the media in Sialkot.<\/p>\n<p>The defence minister further said that attempts were made to target the FC headquarters in Nushki and Dalbadin, adding that all attacks were foiled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey attempted to carry out a suicide attack in Dalbadin,\u201d he said, adding that \u201call targets have been neutralised\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Echoing Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi\u2019s statements, Asif blamed the incidents on neighbouring India, adding that the attacks aimed to \u201cdestabilise the country at a time when it is on the path to progress\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur intelligence and the confessional statements by terrorists all prove linkages to India,\u201d the defence minister said.<\/p>\n<p>Pointing out that the BLA was now making use of female bombers, Asif said two of Saturday\u2019s attacks involved women perpetrators.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe minds of young women are being polluted,\u201d he said, adding that the BLA was now targeting \u201clabourers and poor people struggling to survive\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"balochistan-attacks\" href=\"#balochistan-attacks\" class=\"heading-permalink\" aria-hidden=\"true\" title=\"Permalink\"><\/a>Balochistan attacks<\/h2>\n<p>On Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said <em>Fitna-al-Hindustan<\/em> terrorists \u201cattempted to disturb peace of Balochistan\u201d by conducting multiple terrorist activities around Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni.<\/p>\n<p>During the operations, 15 personnel embraced martyrdom, the military\u2019s media affairs wing added.<\/p>\n<p>Eighteen others, including children, also died as terrorists targeted civilians in Gwadar and Kharan, the ISPR said.<\/p>\n<p>Among the attacks, a bomb blast was reported in Quetta, where Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1970100\/naqvi-holds-india-responsible-for-spate-of-attacks-in-balochistan-ispr-says-92-terrorists-killed#:~:text=Bugti%20visits%20Quetta%20attack%20site\">visited<\/a> later to review the security situation.<\/p>\n<p>Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held India responsible for the series of attacks, asserting that the authorities would go after every single one of
