{"id":2924,"date":"2026-02-15T14:03:43","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T14:03:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=2924"},"modified":"2026-02-15T14:03:43","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T14:03:43","slug":"shaukat-khanum-hospital-dismisses-claims-over-noc-withdrawal-for-karachi-fundraising-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=2924","title":{"rendered":"Shaukat Khanum Hospital dismisses claims over NOC withdrawal for Karachi fundraising event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dawn.com\/large\/2026\/02\/15175003905c848.webp\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital on Sunday dismissed social media claims regarding the withdrawal of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for a fundraising event for its Karachi facility, clarifying that the purported notification being circulated dates back to December 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Several reports <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Anus40802911\/status\/2022937789805785401?s=20\">emerged<\/a> on social media and television platforms claiming that the NOC issued by Islamabad\u2019s administration related to holding a fundraising ceremony for the under-construction SKMCH in Karachi had been withdrawn.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  w-full  w-full  media--left  media--embed  media--uneven media--tweet\" data-original-src=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SKMCH\/status\/2023003653528056119?s=20\">\n<div class=\"media__item  media__item--twitter  \"><span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n        <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SKMCH\/status\/2023003653528056119?s=20\"><\/a>\n    <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>SKMCH issued a formal clarification regarding the purported development, saying, \u201cThe news currently circulating on social media about the withdrawal of a NOC by the Islamabad administration is from December 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt relates to a fundraising gala dinner planned in Islamabad for December 29, 2023, in support of Shaukat Khanum Hospital Karachi,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n<p>It said that fundraising and construction had continued without interruption since then.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Karachi hospital remains on track for opening in December 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We appreciate the concern shown by our supporters on this matter and would like to assure you that our mission to fight cancer continues with your trust and generosity, it said.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the SKMCH administration had said that \u201capproximately 70 per cent\u201d of the nuclear medicine facility had been completed, with the remaining work on track.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  w-full  w-full  media--left  media--embed  media--uneven media--tweet\" data-original-src=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SKMCH\/status\/2022611590655488199?s=20\">\n<div class=\"media__item  media__item--twitter  \"><span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n        <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SKMCH\/status\/2022611590655488199?s=20\"><\/a>\n    <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The SKMCH and research centres already exist in Lahore and Peshawar.
