Former President Barack Obama said over the weekend that aliens are \u201creal,\u201d though he admitted he \u201chasn\u2019t seen them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Obama <\/span>confirmed<\/span><\/a> the existence of extraterrestrial life during an <\/span>interview<\/span><\/a> with podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen that aired on Saturday. At the beginning of a \u201clightning round\u201d of questions, Cohen asked the president directly about the existence of aliens.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re real, but I haven\u2019t seen them, and they\u2019re not being kept in\u201d Area 51, the former president said. \u201cThere\u2019s no underground facility, unless there\u2019s this enormous conspiracy, and they hid it from the President of the United States.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Obama also jokingly said that the question on extraterrestrial life was the first question he wanted answered when he became president.<\/span><\/p>\n Saturday\u2019s interview is not the first time Obama has spoken about issues related to extraterrestrials. In 2021, the former president confirmed the existence of UFOs, or unidentified flying objects. UFOs are commonly associated with aliens, though they could have more earthly explanations as well.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhat is true, and I\u2019m actually being serious here, is that there is footage and records of objects in the skies that we don\u2019t know exactly what they are,\u201d he <\/span>said<\/span><\/a> during an appearance on CBS\u2019 \u201cThe Late Late Show with James Corden.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe can\u2019t explain how they move, their trajectory,\u201d he said. \u201cThey did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Obama also addressed the issue of aliens in 2021, though at the time he declined to say whether or not they exist.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhen it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can\u2019t tell you on air,\u201d Obama said at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cLook, the truth is that when I came into office, I asked,\u201d he continued. \u201cI was like, \u2018All right, is there the lab somewhere where we\u2019re keeping the alien specimens and spaceships?\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
