Pharmaceuticals, Inc. voluntarily recalled the products and is urging consumers to stop using the affected bottles immediately.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><button class=\"button button--modal-trigger\" aria-label=\"Open the image in a modal.\" data-modal-image=\"38981037\"><br \/>\n\t<svg xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg\" class=\"icon-plus\" fill=\"#fff\" viewbox=\"0 0 1033 1000\" width=\"1em\" height=\"1em\"><path d=\"M380 364V0h273v355h380v290H653v355H380V645H0V355h380v9z\"\/><\/svg><br \/>\n<\/button><br \/>\n<figcaption>Over three \u201clack of assurance of sterility,\u201d meaning the drops could potentially harbor infection-causing microbes from the manufacturing process. <\/p>\n<p>The agency classified it as a \u201cClass II\u201d recall, which means exposure could lead to temporary or medically reversible health issues.<\/p>\n<p>So far, no confirmed contamination has been reported.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The recall covers a wide range of eye drop formulas, including:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Artificial Tears<\/li>\n<li>Sterile Lubricant Eye Drops<\/li>\n<li>Advanced Relief Eye Drops<\/li>\n<li>Dry Eye Relief Eye Drops<\/li>\n<li>Redness Lubricant Eye Drops<\/li>\n<li>Ultra Lubricating Eye Drops<\/li>\n<li>Soothing Tears<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The products were sold under a variety of packaging and store-brand labels at major pharmacy chains, including Walgreens, CVS Health, Rite Aid, Good Neighbor Pharmacy and Discount Drug Mart. <\/p>\n<p>They were also distributed through grocery giants like Kroger, H-E-B, Publix, Meijer and Harris Teeter, as well as retailers such as Dollar General, Circle K and others. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><button class=\"button button--modal-trigger\" aria-label=\"Open the image Pharmaceuticals eye drops are sold at Walgreens, CVS Health and Rite Aid, as well as the supermarkets Kroger, H-E-B, Publix, Meijer and Harris Teeter. <span class=\"credit\">Universal Images Group via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In many cases, the eye drops were sold as store brands or under names like Best Choice, QC-Quality Choice, Discount Drug Mart and Good Sense.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA is urging consumers to check labels, lot numbers and expiration dates to see if they may have purchased any of the recalled products.<\/p>\n<p>The agency flagged codes beginning with AC, AR, LT, SU, RG, RL, SY or AT as potentially affected. Most of the recalled bottles expire in May 2026 or October 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The full list of retailers, brands, UPCs and lot numbers included in the recall can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/?Event=98533\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Adverse events related to the recalled eye drops can be reported <a href=\"https:\/\/open.fda.gov\/data\/faers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The announcement is the latest in a string of eye drop recalls in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, BRS Analytical Services recalled more than <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/05\/14\/business\/over-75k-eye-care-products-recalled-in-us-see-list-of-items\/\">76,000 cases<\/a>, citing sterility issues and deviations in the manufacturing process.<\/p>\n<p>A year earlier, Alcon Laboratories voluntarily recalled several lots of its Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra P-F due to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/25\/health\/major-eyedrops-brand-being-recalled-due-to-fungal-contamination\/\">fungal contamination<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And in 2023, Kilitch Healthcare India Limited <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/11\/17\/business\/fda-recalls-27-eye-drops-made-in-insanitary-plant-where-operators-work-barefoot\/\">pulled more than two dozen eye drop brands<\/a> sold at major retailers nationwide after a report detailed a slew of \u201cinsanitary conditions\u201d at a factory in India, including employees  \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/11\/10\/business\/eyedrops-pulled-by-cvs-target-made-by-barefoot-workers-in-india\/\">working barefoot<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/03\/health\/eye-drops-sold-at-cvs-and-walgreens-recalled-over-sterility-issues\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Talk about a sight for sore eyes.
