{"id":40455,"date":"2026-04-04T01:08:43","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T01:08:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=40455"},"modified":"2026-04-04T01:08:43","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T01:08:43","slug":"montreal-port-authority-ceo-julie-gascon-suddenly-steps-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=40455","title":{"rendered":"Montreal Port Authority CEO Julie Gascon suddenly steps down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Montreal Port Authority has announced its president and chief executive, Julie Gascon, has stepped down from her role.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.port-montreal.com\/en\/the-port-of-montreal\/news\/news\/press-release\/departure-julie-gascon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a statement released Friday<\/a>, the authority said Gascon, who had been in the role since February 2024, had \u201cceased her position\u201d as of April 3.<\/p>\n<p>No reason was given for her departure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA committee composed of members of the Board of Directors will ensure the leadership of the organization on an interim basis in close collaboration with the members of senior management, during the recruitment process to find a replacement,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The chair of the board, Nathalie Pilon, said the organization was entering \u201ca new phase\u201d as it advances a major expansion project at Contrec\u0153ur, on Montreal\u2019s South Shore.<\/p>\n<p>Before she joined the Montreal Port Authority, Gascon had positions at Transport Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard and as CEO of the Pacific Pilotage Authority.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/montreal-port-authority-ceo-julie-gascon-steps-down-in-abrupt-departure\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Montreal Port Authority has announced its president and chief executive, Julie Gascon, has stepped down from her role.
