Jenna Ortega<\/a> is once again dominating timelines\u2014but this time, it\u2019s not because of Wednesday.<\/p>\n The actress, 23, was recently spotted out with Danish musician Elias R\u00f8nnenfelt, best known as the frontman of Iceage. In a now-viral clip, R\u00f8nnenfelt, 34, is seen with his arm around Ortega, instantly fueling speculation about their relationship status.<\/p>\n But while the internet loves a potential new couple, this one comes with some baggage. Following the photos, past controversies tied to R\u00f8nnenfelt have resurfaced\u2014prompting renewed scrutiny online.<\/p>\n One issue dates back to artwork R\u00f8nnenfelt created for Iceage when he was just 18. The imagery included symbols later linked to neo-Nazi and fascist groups, which sparked backlash years later. Addressing the controversy in an interview with Pitchfork<\/a>, he said, \u201cWhen a lot of these allegations came out, we were dumbfounded. Now I understand that we hold a responsibility on our shoulders to make it clear what we stand for.\u201d<\/p>\n R\u00f8nnenfelt also claimed the imagery was pulled from the 1980s film Roller Blade<\/em>, adding that he didn\u2019t grasp the meaning behind the symbols at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat some people took from it was not our intent. I hope that it\u2019s very clear, and I think it is for anybody who has followed us, that we are most definitely not right-wing and we don\u2019t have any sympathies or leanings to that side.\u201d<\/p>\n The musician has faced additional criticism over Iceage inviting a provocatively named band\u2014White N\u2014to perform at a festival they organized. \u201cThere\u2019s no way of excusing this,\u201d R\u00f8nnenfelt said.<\/p>\n \u201cThey weren\u2019t a band that had ever played before. They were some people that we knew were active in Antifa activism. I don\u2019t know what the f*ck their intent was with that [band name].\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cI f\u2014king deeply regret that we failed to speak up there and prevent it, and that we failed to see how fcked up and harmful having a band\u2026 I\u2019m embarrassed to have shared a stage with a band with that name.\u201d<\/p>\n R\u00f8nnenfelt added that he initially believed the name was intended as a political statement\u2014though he acknowledged how offensive it was regardless.<\/p>\n As for Ortega, she\u2019s stayed characteristically quiet. The actress has not publicly confirmed any relationship with R\u00f8nnenfelt and has long been open about keeping her personal life under wraps.<\/p>\n In a 2023 interview<\/a>, she explained her hesitation around dating: \u201cMaybe I am too obsessed with my work, but the idea of relationships stresses me out,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd also being that vulnerable with someone and having to get to know someone that well and having someone see you for all that you are.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not ready to be that vulnerable or trusting with someone.\u201d<\/p>\n For now, Ortega remains focused on her ever-expanding career. After breaking out on Wednesday, she\u2019s solidified herself as a Gen Z scream queen with roles in Scream<\/a><\/em> and X<\/a><\/em>, and is already looking ahead\u2014stepping into producing and eyeing a future behind the camera.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
