The new space movie Project Hail Mary<\/a> starring Ryan Gosling has gotten a rave review from more than halfway to the moon.<\/p>\n Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen said on Saturday that he and his Artemis II<\/a> crewmates got to watch the film with their families before launching on the lunar fly-around. He said it was \u201ca real treat\u201d to view the movie while getting ready for his own space adventure.<\/p>\n Gosling<\/a>, Hansen\u2019s fellow Canadian, sent best wishes to the four astronauts in advance of Wednesday\u2019s liftoff. The actor and astronaut are both from the south-western Ontario city of London.<\/p>\n \u201cArt imitates science and vice versa,\u201d Hansen said during a live televised event arranged by the Canadian Space<\/a> Agency. \u201cI thought it was just such an inspirational example \u2013 somebody who goes out there and just gets what was done to save humanity. It\u2019s a pretty extraordinary example that we can all follow.\u201d<\/p>\n Hansen is the first non-US citizen to fly to the moon.<\/p>\n If all goes as planned, Hansen and his crewmates will set a record by venturing further from Earth than any human before \u2013 more than 250,000 miles. The current record is held by the crew of Apollo 13, a mission which received the Hollywood treatment with a critically acclaimed film<\/a> in 1995.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
