Glory be to GOD!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2040448540514656666\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse\/status\/2040448540514656666\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The post amounted to a renewed warning that Trump is prepared to follow through if Iran continues choking off the vital waterway while dragging its feet on a diplomatic resolution.<\/p>\n<p>Trump had previously warned that if Tehran refused to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and failed to reach terms, the United States could strike major regime infrastructure, including electric generating plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island \u2014 the country\u2019s main oil export hub.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\">The renewed ultimatum came as the administration appeared increasingly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2026\/04\/04\/trump-iran-hell-threat-deadline\">skeptical<\/a> that indirect diplomacy would produce a breakthrough before Monday\u2019s deadline. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed Saturday that Tehran\u2019s position was being \u201cmisrepresented by U.S. media\u201d and insisted the regime had \u201cnever refused to go to Islamabad,\u201d while saying what Iran cared about were the terms of a \u201cconclusive and lasting END to the illegal war that is imposed on us.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2040377895953047771\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/araghchi\/status\/2040377895953047771\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>His statement, however, did little to suggest any real concession from Tehran, which has continued to posture publicly even as mediators reportedly struggle to move the two sides toward direct talks.<\/p>\n<p>At the center of the standoff is the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow shipping lane through which roughly a fifth of the world\u2019s oil and liquefied natural gas ordinarily passes. Traffic through the chokepoint has collapsed since the operation began, with reports describing a dramatic plunge in commercial shipping after repeated tanker strikes, Iranian threats, and Tehran\u2019s effort to leverage the strait for political and economic gain.<\/p>\n<p>War Secretary Pete Hegseth amplified Trump\u2019s message by reposting the president\u2019s Truth Social warning on X, while Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made clear after speaking with Trump that he believes the president is fully prepared to act.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2040455778960818588\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PeteHegseth\/status\/2040455778960818588\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just had a great conversation with @POTUS,\u201d Graham wrote. \u201cI totally support his ultimatum to the Iranian regime to open up the Strait of Hormuz and to do a peace deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA massive military operation awaits Iran if they choose poorly,\u201d Graham added. \u201cAfter speaking with President Trump this morning, I am completely convinced that he will use overwhelming military force against the regime if they continue to impede the Strait of Hormuz and refuse a diplomatic solution to achieve our military objectives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2040441053388390597\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LindseyGrahamSC\/status\/2040441053388390597\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s latest warning also came as the U.S. military <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2026\/04\/04\/search-continues-for-missing-u-s-pilot-shot-down-over-southern-iran\/\">continued<\/a> a frantic search for the missing weapons systems officer from the F-15E Strike Eagle that was shot down over Iran on Friday \u2014 a major and still-unfolding development in the conflict.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a9d adSo\"\/>\n<p>Both crew members aboard the F-15E ejected after the aircraft went down. One was rescued, while the second remained missing Saturday as U.S. forces continued search-and-rescue operations over rugged terrain in southwestern Iran. Iranian state media, meanwhile, urged residents to turn over any \u201cenemy pilot\u201d to authorities and promised a reward.<\/p>\n<p>The downing marked the first known loss of a U.S. aircraft in Iranian territory during the current operation and came just two days after Trump said in a national address that the United States had \u201cbeaten and completely decimated Iran\u201d and was moving to finish the job quickly.<\/p>\n<p>In that Wednesday evening address, Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2026\/04\/01\/trump-says-core-objectives-of-iran-war-nearing-completion\/\">said<\/a> Operation Epic Fury was nearing completion of its core military objectives, while warning that Iran would be hit \u201cextremely hard\u201d over the next two to three weeks if it refused to accept terms. He also warned the regime could be sent \u201cback to the stone ages\u201d if it continued to resist.<\/p>\n<p>That warning was reinforced Thursday when Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2026\/04\/02\/watch-trump-posts-video-of-irans-highest-bridge-tumbling-down-warns-make-a-deal-before-its-too-late\/\">posted<\/a> video of the U.S. strike on the B1 bridge west of Tehran, a major transit corridor that officials said had been used by Iranian forces to move missile and drone components from the capital toward launch sites in western Iran.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again \u2014 Much more to follow!\u201d Trump wrote at the time. \u201cIT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OF WHAT STILL COULD BECOME A GREAT COUNTRY!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2039744702946107396\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2039744702946107396\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As pressure on Tehran has intensified, signs have also emerged that the regime and its terror proxies could seek to widen the maritime crisis beyond Hormuz.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a9d adSo\"\/>\n<p>Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf appeared Friday to threaten the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, another major global shipping chokepoint, when he posted a series of pointed questions on X about how much global oil, LNG, wheat, rice, and fertilizer transit the waterway and which countries and companies rely on it most.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2040186566195208307\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mb_ghalibaf\/status\/2040186566195208307\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That threat was echoed more explicitly by Houthi Deputy Information Minister Mohammed Mansour, who warned that the Iran-backed Yemeni terror group could move to close the Bab el-Mandeb if Gulf states joined the U.S.-Israeli campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe option of closing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait is a Yemeni option that can be implemented should the aggression against Iran and Lebanon escalate savagely, or if any Gulf state becomes directly involved in military operations in support of the [Zionist] entity or the United States,\u201d Mansour <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al-monitor.com\/originals\/2026\/04\/senior-houthi-official-says-bab-el-mandab-closure-option-if-any-gulf-states-join\">told<\/a> <em>Al-Monitor.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Together, the developments sharpen the stakes behind Trump\u2019s 48-hour warning: Tehran is not only being pressed to end its stranglehold on Hormuz and engage seriously, but is now signaling \u2014 through both regime officials and terrorist proxies \u2014 that it could seek to trigger an even broader maritime and economic crisis if pressure continues to build.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><em>Joshua Klein is a reporter for Breitbart News.
