On Friday\u2019s broadcast of MS NOW\u2019s \u201cThe Briefing,\u201d guest host Ali Velshi said that we\u2019ve \u201cgotten ourselves into a situation where we\u2019re waiting [for] confirmation from the Iranians, who we don\u2019t typically trust on this information anyway, to try and corroborate what the Americans are telling us\u201d because we\u2019re not sure whether to believe the Pentagon or president.<\/p>\n
Velshi said, \u201c[O]ne may have degraded Iran\u2019s capabilities \u2014 anti-aircraft capabilities to some degree, and something can always get through and the Iranians might get lucky. But it\u2019s hard to know, right?\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued, \u201cIt\u2019s \u2014 we\u2019re in a weird situation where we\u2019re not sure when the Pentagon tells us something, whether to believe it. We\u2019re not sure when the president of the United States tells us something, whether to believe it. We\u2019ve gotten ourselves into a situation where we\u2019re waiting [for] confirmation from the Iranians, who we don\u2019t typically trust on this information anyway, to try and corroborate what the Americans are telling us.\u201d<\/p>\n
