Caustic actor Brian Cox is at it again, this time targeting a list of actors, productions, and President Trump in his newest extended tirade during an interview with The Times UK<\/i>.<\/p>\n
Cox has been increasingly vitriolic against his fellow actors, and now he is upping the ante in attacks on personalities that he has a beef with. The Succession<\/i> star has already raised eyebrows with an attack on his fellow castmate, Jeremy Strong, having called the younger actor \u201cfucking annoying\u201d for his acting style, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\n Now he is bashing more fellow actors and others.<\/p>\n In the article, Cox took a swipe at Gary Oldman\u2019s acting in Darkest Hour<\/i>, \u201cnonsense\u201d (he used the Scottish slang term \u201ccobblers\u201d), and added that Oldman merely delivered an empty \u201ccrowd-pleasing farrago\u201d (or mishmash) with his Oscar-winning performance.<\/p>\n He then called Johnny Depp \u201cso overblown, so overrated\u201d after admitting that he turned down a role in the Pirates of the Caribbean<\/i> franchise because he did not want to work with Depp.<\/p>\n Next he took aim at Ian McKellen whose Lord of the Rings<\/i> role he said was \u201cnot to my taste.\u201d<\/p>\n Then there was Edward Norton, \u201cA pain in the arse\u201d; Kevin Spacey, \u201cA stupid, stupid man\u201d; Margot Robbie, \u201cToo beautiful\u201d to star in Wuthering Heights<\/i>; and he said Quentin Tarantino does not let his actors express themselves in his films.<\/p>\n He then lit into Donald Trump. \u201cTrump doesn\u2019t give a shit about the people. He\u2019s only interested in the oil [in Iran]. There\u2019s just sheer fucking greed motivating him, nothing else. The idea he\u2019s liberating people is a nonsense,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The paper asked Cox if he worried that his constant attacks on others might lead to career problems.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, I don\u2019t know yet if it\u2019s caused me problems,\u201d he replied. \u201cI mean, my wife keeps saying, \u2018Brian, be careful. Brian, be careful.\u2019 I think, \u2018Fuck it, I don\u2019t want to be careful any more! I\u2019ll be 80 this year. Fuck it! I\u2019m gonna say what I want to say.\u201d<\/p>\n Cox has been taking aim at many people, productions, studios, and institutions in Hollywood over the last few years.<\/p>\n Last December, for instance, he ripped<\/a> the Academy Awards as \u201cabsolute nonsense.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe Oscars are absolute nonsense because everything that\u2019s judged in the Oscars, it\u2019s not a year\u2019s work. It\u2019s just the work that comes out between Thanksgiving and Christmas,\u201d Cox said at the time. \u201cI think it makes those awards a fallacy quite honestly, because there\u2019s a lot of other good work that goes on outside of what they call Oscar season.\u201d<\/p>\n He slammed<\/a> the entire U.S.A. for voting for Trump back in 2022.<\/p>\n He even flamed the Holy Bible as \u201cone of the worst books ever.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s all about this notion of God, the idea that there\u2019s a God that takes care of us all,\u201d he told<\/a> Starting Line host Rich Leigh in May of last year. \u201cThere\u2019s no such thing, doesn\u2019t happen, that\u2019s not what it\u2019s about.
