{"id":41912,"date":"2026-04-05T13:13:33","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T13:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=41912"},"modified":"2026-04-05T13:13:33","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T13:13:33","slug":"pakistan-turkiye-to-sign-mou-on-judicial-cooperation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=41912","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan, Turkiye to sign MoU on judicial cooperation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dawn.com\/large\/2026\/04\/05175106b48461a.webp\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court will host a high-level delegation of Turkiye\u2019s Constitutional Court from April 6 to 9, during which a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on judicial cooperation will be signed.<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release issued by the apex court on Sunday, the Turkish delegation will be led by Kadir \u00d6zkaya, the president of the Constitutional Court, and will also comprise judges and other senior officials.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA key highlight of the visit will be the signing of a MoU on judicial cooperation at the Supreme Court of Pakistan on April 6 (Monday),\u201d the press release said.<\/p>\n<p>It added that the signing would be witnessed by judges from the SC and Federal Constitutional Court, the chief justices of the high courts, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and others officials.<\/p>\n<p>It added that the agreement was expected to establish a structured and forward-looking framework for collaboration, focusing on judicial exchange, capacity building and sharing of best practices in adjudication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe initiative reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Turkiye to strengthening constitutional governance, upholding the rule of law, and reinforcing judicial independence, as well as to fostering closer institutional linkages between their superior courts,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>It said that a central feature of the proposed cooperation was the professional development of the judiciary, particularly at the district level, through joint training programmes, academic exchanges, and exposure to comparative judicial practices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe collaboration is also expected to support the integration of modern technologies in judicial processes, aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of justice,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said that the agreement also envisaged the establishment of a joint working group to ensure sustained engagement and effective implementation of agreed areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring their stay, the delegation will engage in high-level institutional interactions, alongside engagements with key justice sector stakeholders.
