Nick Visser<\/span><\/div>\n<\/header>\nThe US president, Donald Trump<\/strong>, has criticised Australia for what he said was a lack of help during the ongoing war in Iran.<\/p>\nAt a media conference, Trump continued to take a hard line against Iran, saying he believes the US military is doing \u201cunbelievably well\u201d in the Middle East while threatening that Iran could be \u201ctaken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night\u201d.<\/p>\n
He added that he remained frustrated with Nato, calling the bloc a \u201cpaper tiger\u201d the US \u201cdidn\u2019t need\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey haven\u2019t helped at all,\u201d he said, adding:<\/p>\n

class=\"dcr-1wl2b6o\">‘Increasing’ chance Topical Cyclone Maila will hit Queensland at weekend<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Tropical Cyclone Maila <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/australia-news\/2026\/apr\/06\/severe-tropical-cyclone-maila-far-north-queensland\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">could hit<\/a> the coast of far north Queensland this weekend, three weeks after the same area was smashed by Severe Tropical Cyclone Narelle, the Bureau of Meteorology said last night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">It was tracking halfway between Solomon Islands and Papua New Gunea at 10.45pm last night, according to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bom.gov.au\/warning\/tropical-cyclone-forecast-track-map\/IDQ65002\" data-link-name=\"in body link\"> latest update from the bureau<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The BoM said:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-spacefinder-role=\"inline\" class=\"dcr-154zxly\">\n<p><svg viewbox=\"0 0 22 14\" style=\"fill:var(--block-quote-fill)\" class=\"dcr-scql1j\"><title>double quotation mark<\/title><path d=\"M5.255 0h4.75c-.572 4.53-1.077 8.972-1.297 13.941H0C.792 9.104 2.44 days, but confidence is increasing in Maila moving towards the far north Queensland coast later in the week, potentially crossing the coast on the weekend.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The storm is classed as a category three, with sustained winds near the centre at 150km\/h and wind gusts up to 205km\/h.<\/p>\n<figure Australia for what he said was a lack of help during the ongoing war in Iran.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">At a media conference, Trump continued to take a hard line against Iran, saying he believes the US military is doing \u201cunbelievably well\u201d in the Middle East while threatening that Iran could be \u201ctaken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night\u201d.<\/p>\n<p
