Steve Kroft worked as a correspondent on 60 Minutes <\/em>with CBS for 30 years from 1989 until he retired in 2019, and he apparently \u201chated it.\u201d<\/p>\n Kroft revealed his thoughts on working for the famed television show in an interview on Bill O\u2019Reilly\u2019s We\u2019ll Do It Live!,\u00a0<\/em>and while he called the job \u201cexhilarating,\u201d he also apparently \u201chated it,\u201d candidly admitting he \u201cprobably wouldn\u2019t do it again.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI probably wouldn\u2019t do it again,\u201d said Kroft. \u201cI hated it. Look, the best job I ever had at CBS was when I was correspondent at the London bureau and got to see the world. That was the job I always wanted.\u00a060 Minutes<\/em>\u00a0was really appealing, and I thought I wasn\u2019t really sure I was ever gonna get there. I didn\u2019t really seriously think about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Kroft described 60 Minutes<\/em> as a \u201c24 hours a day\u201d job that had him traveling from place to place while writing scripts and attending screenings over and over again.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was exhilarating. \u2026 The reason I loved the job was because of the stories that I could do and the fact that they liked good stories,\u201d he said. \u201cI was kind of at a disadvantage. I was the first person on that show who had not been an anchorman, wasn\u2019t really well known. I\u2019d been a lot on the evening news, and I had been at\u00a0West 57th<\/em>, but I had to keep doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n While Kroft did not say if this contributed to his distaste with 60 Minutes<\/em>, he said that his getting the job earned him just as many enemies as friends.<\/p>\n \u201cNot everybody was happy that I got [the job],\u201d he said. \u201cThere were other people that wanted, so then you\u2019ve all of a sudden made a bunch of enemies. It\u2019s a snake pit.\u201d<\/p>\n
