Comedian and Democrat activist Chelsea Handler bashed marriage as \u201coutdated\u201d\u00a0and \u201ca really silly idea,\u201d adding that she prioritizes \u201cfreedom\u201d above all else. \u201cYou\u2019re kind of, like, property a little bit,\u201d the 51-year-old said of marriage.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never been very thirsty for a man or a partner,\u201d\u00a0Handler said during a recent appearance on\u00a0the Angie Martinez IRL <\/em>podcast.\u00a0\u201cYou\u2019ve got to really kind of get my attention for me to pay attention in a serious way, because otherwise it\u2019s a bunch of casual encounters.\u201d<\/p>\n Chelsea Handler\u00a0went on to say that she \u201clikes\u201d these casual encounters.<\/p>\n \u201cI like that. I like traveling a lot. I like hooking up with guys. I don\u2019t like to get too serious. I don\u2019t want someone in my space all the time. I just am not interested in that,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n \u201cMy whole vibe is about freedom. I want freedom,\u201d Handler added, before asking Angie Martinez if she has any children, to which the podcast host replied, \u201cI do, but they\u2019re older.\u201d<\/p>\n To that, Handler implied that\u00a0Martinez is now free because she has adult kids, stating, \u201cThey\u2019re cooked. Done. Freedom,\u201d which may suggest that she herself perhaps would have enjoyed having children, so long as she didn\u2019t have to put in the work raising them during the earlier years of their lives.<\/p>\n \u201cI love the idea that I don\u2019t have to check in with anybody about anything I do,\u201d the comedian said. \u201cI don\u2019t have to consider or consult with anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n Watch Below:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
