He argues that we are embarking on a new world order: the US remains a superpower, yet no longer functions as &#8220;leader of the free world&#8221;. For a half century, the US has faced the limits of its global dominance, a realisation rooted in strategic failures ranging from Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan.
