{"id":43959,"date":"2026-04-07T16:19:03","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T16:19:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=43959"},"modified":"2026-04-07T16:19:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T16:19:03","slug":"trump-accounts-put-robinhood-in-front-of-the-next-generation-of-investors-says-ceo-vlad-tenev","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=43959","title":{"rendered":"Trump Accounts put Robinhood in front of the next generation of investors, says CEO Vlad Tenev"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"RegularArticle-ArticleBody-5\" data-module=\"ArticleBody\" data-test=\"articleBody-2\" data-analytics=\"RegularArticle-articleBody-5-2\"><span class=\"HighlightShare-hidden\" style=\"top:0;left:0\"\/><\/p>\n<div role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Placeholder-ArticleBody-Video-108287963\">\n<div role=\"button\" tabindex=\"0\" id=\"Placeholder-ArticleBody-Video-108287963\" class=\"PlaceHolder-wrapper\" data-vilynx-id=\"7000408910\" data-test=\"VideoPlaceHolder\">\n<div class=\"InlineVideo-videoEmbed\" id=\"InlineVideo-0\" data-test=\"InlineVideo\">\n<div class=\"InlineVideo-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"InlineVideo-inlineThumbnailContainer\"><span class=\"InlineVideo-videoButton\"\/><span\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p><span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"RegularArticle-QuoteInBody-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/HOOD\/\">Robinhood&#8217;s<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> new partnership with the U.S. Treasury Department on children&#8217;s so-called Trump Accounts is going to drive exposure to the company among emerging investors, benefiting its future growth, according to Vlad Tenev.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the Treasury said it has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2026\/04\/06\/treasury-trump-accounts-bny-robinhood.html\">selected Robinhood alongside BNY Mellon to help power Trump accounts<\/a> \u2013 tax-deferred, custodial-style investment accounts for children set to launch this summer with a $1,000 seed contribution from the government for kids born between 2025 and 2028 \u2014 and build the app linked to it.<\/p>\n<p>Tenev, the CEO of the investing app, called it an evolution of the American Dream and a key part of the company&#8217;s own mission to &#8220;democratize finance for all,&#8221; speaking to CNBC&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/squawk-on-the-street\/\">&#8220;Squawk on the Street&#8221;<\/a> Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This puts Robinhood in front of the next generation \u2026 this is literally going to be the first investment account for millions of people,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>He added that in the near-term, the company is more focused on its government partnership rather than monetizing the account, which will be fee- and commission-free for customers. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These are intended to be the absolute lowest cost vehicles and ways to get customers invested,&#8221; he said. However, &#8220;there may be, in the future, management fees through ETFs that are deployed in these accounts \u2026 those will be very small in terms of how we&#8217;re monetizing.
