Bill Gates is set to appear before the House Oversight Committee for the group\u2019s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, following other powerful figures who have already testified, like former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and billionaire Les Wexner.<\/p>\n
The Microsoft co-founder is scheduled for a transcribed interview on June 10, a source familiar with the plans <\/span>told<\/span><\/a> CBS News.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Epstein <\/span>files<\/span><\/a> released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in early February showed the late sex predator claiming in a 2013 email that Gates caught an STD after \u201csex with Russians girls,\u201d and wanted to secretly slip antibiotics to his then-wife, Melinda French Gates, instead of telling her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As Breitbart News\u2019s Alana Mastrangelo <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a>, the email was sent only to Epstein himself but appeared to be notes that the billionaire financier drafted for Gates\u2019s longtime adviser, Boris Nikolic.<\/span><\/p>\n A 2017 email <\/span>published<\/span><\/a> by the <\/span>Wall Street Journal<\/span><\/i> in 2023 also appeared to show Epstein threatening to expose Gates\u2019s alleged affair with Russian bridge player Mila Antonova, supposedly because the tech mogul refused to join a charitable fund he had started.<\/span> An apparent adviser of Gates said he was interested in the proposal, but told Epstein that his wife did not want him to communicate with him in <\/span>text messages<\/span><\/a> released by the House Oversight Committee in November 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe wants to talk to you but his wife won\u2019t let him,\u201d the adviser wrote to Epstein of Gates, before saying \u201che loves you\u201d and \u201che says hi.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c[H]e feels bad about the [donor advised fund] btw He thought great idea but wife wouldn\u2019t allow,\u201d the adviser added.<\/span><\/p>\n When the tech billionaire apologized to employees of his Gates Foundation for his exposed ties to Epstein in February, he claimed their relationship lasted from 2011 to 2014 and <\/span>reportedly<\/span><\/a> admitted that he \u201cdid have affairs, one with a Russian bridge player who met me at bridge events, and one with a Russian nuclear physicist who I met through business activities.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A Gates spokesperson told CBS News in January that the \u201cclaims are absolutely absurd and completely false. The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein\u2019s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n However, the outlet reported that \u201clater emails and text messages show Epstein sought to rekindle his friendship with Gates, and secure an investment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) requested Gates to come the interview in a March 3 letter, writing, \u201cDue to public reporting, documents released by the Department of Justice, and documents obtained by the Committee, the Committee believes you have information that will assist in its investigation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Gates \u201cwelcomes the opportunity to appear before the Committee,\u201d a spokesperson said. \u201cWhile he never witnessed or participated in any of Epstein\u2019s illegal conduct, he is looking forward to answering all the committee\u2019s questions to support their important work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Melinda French Gates <\/span>shared<\/span><\/a> her dismay at the released files on NPR\u2019s <\/span>Wild Card<\/span><\/i> podcast in February, saying her ex-husband and other Epstein associates \u201cneed to answer to those things.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI think we\u2019re having a reckoning as a society,\u201d she told host Rachel Martin. \u201cNo girl should ever be put in the situation that they were put in by Epstein and whatever was going on with all of the various people around him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Bill and Melinda Gates jointly <\/span>announced<\/span><\/a> their divorce in 2021 after 27 years of marriage and three children, saying, \u201c[W]e no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s beyond heartbreaking. I remember being those ages those girls were; I remember my daughters being those ages,\u201d Melinda added on the podcast.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cSo, for me, it\u2019s personally hard whenever those details come up because it brings back memories of some very, very painful times in my marriage, but I have moved on from that,\u201d she continued, before saying \u201cwhatever questions\u201d that remain on the Epstein debacle \u201care for those people, and even my ex-husband.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey need to answer to those things, not me,\u201d Melinda added. \u201cAnd I am so happy to be away from all the muck.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The House Oversight Committee is also seeking interviews with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, former White House counsel Kathryn Ruemmler, and longtime Clinton aide Doug Band.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Lutnick is set to appear before the committee on May 6.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Olivia Rondeau is a politics reporter for Breitbart News based in Washington, DC.
