{"id":45281,"date":"2026-04-09T01:38:26","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T01:38:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=45281"},"modified":"2026-04-09T01:38:26","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T01:38:26","slug":"cricket-nsw-says-david-warner-aware-of-seriousness-of-drink-driving-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=45281","title":{"rendered":"Cricket NSW says David Warner aware of \u2018seriousness\u2019 of drink-driving charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dawn.com\/large\/2026\/04\/081823398b24fb9.webp\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cricket New South Wales (NSW) on Wednesday said that it would support David Warner after he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1989479\">charged<\/a> with drink-driving, adding that the former Australian opener was aware of the \u201cseriousness\u201d of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The 39-year-old is due to appear in court on May 7 after allegedly blowing more than twice the legal limit in a random breath test in Sydney over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Cricket NSW, which has a long-term partnership with government agency Transport for NSW, said it was committed to educating Warner \u201con the importance of safe driving\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCricket NSW is a strong advocate of safe driving, including avoiding drink-driving, and takes incidents of this nature very seriously,\u201d chief executive Lee Germon told <em>cricket.com.au<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDavid is aware of the seriousness of these allegations.
