{"id":45388,"date":"2026-04-09T04:22:30","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T04:22:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=45388"},"modified":"2026-04-09T04:22:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T04:22:30","slug":"adc-rivers-to-proceed-with-congresses-despite-national-litigation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=45388","title":{"rendered":"ADC Rivers To Proceed With Congresses Despite National Litigation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State says it will go ahead with its scheduled ward, local government, and state congresses, despite ongoing litigations at the national level that have sparked protests in parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The State Chairman of the party, Leader Sampson, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Port Harcourt, noting that the decision follows directives from the party\u2019s national leadership led by David Mark.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Rivers State chapter remains united, with no faction within its structure, and is fully prepared to proceed with the congresses across the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are acting on the directive of our national leadership, and we have the mandate to proceed with our congresses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Party executives from the state and various local government areas had gathered at the party secretariat for final preparations ahead of the exercise, which is expected to take place across more than six thousand units.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman maintained that the party has complied with all legal and procedural requirements, including notifying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) within the stipulated timeframe.<br \/><iframe title=\"ADC Rivers To Proceed With Congresses Despite National Litigation - Chairman\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1v8qe7BD65c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>He also dismissed concerns over the ongoing litigations, insisting that the party is operating within the law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no division within the ADC in Rivers State; we remain united at all levels,we are all united under the leadership of Rt.
