A woman known as the \u201cKetamine Queen\u201d was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges connected to the death of \u201cFriends\u201d actor Matthew Perry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Jasveen Sangha, 42, pleaded guilty last September to one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distribution of ketamine, and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury. <\/span><\/p>\n Perry\u2019s family had pushed for a harsh sentence ahead of the hearing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe pain you\u2019ve caused to hundreds, maybe thousands, is irreversible,\u201d the actor\u2019s stepmother, Debbie Perry, said<\/a> in a victim impact statement.\u00a0\u201cThere is no joy\u2026 No light in the window. They won\u2019t be back.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cYou caused this\u2026 You who has talent for business enough to make money chose the one way that hurts people,\u201d the actor\u2019s stepmother continued. \u201cPlease give this heartless woman the maximum prison sentence so she won\u2019t be able to hurt other families like ours.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Prosecutors said Sangha sold 51 vials of ketamine to Perry through his assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, <\/span>according<\/span><\/a> to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Central District of California.<\/span><\/p>\n They also accused Sangha of continuing to sell drugs even after learning that the ketamine she sold had contributed to Perry\u2019s death.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cShe didn\u2019t care and kept selling,\u201d the attorneys wrote in a memorandum. \u201c[The] Defendant\u2019s actions show a cold callousness and disregard for life. She chose profits over people, and her actions have caused immense pain to the victims\u2019 families and loved ones.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Prosecutors further said Sangha had opportunities to stop but \u201csimply chose not to,\u201d and alleged that she later exchanged texts with her associates to try to distance herself from Perry\u2019s death.<\/span><\/p>\n Perry was found unresponsive, face down in a hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home on October 28, 2023. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s office determined he had drowned, with ketamine listed as a contributing factor. The level of ketamine found in his system was close to a range used for general anesthesia, The Daily Wire previously <\/span>reported<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Four other defendants pleaded guilty in connection with the case, including<\/a> Dr. Mark Chavez and Dr. Salvador Plasencia. Plasencia, 44, is serving a 30-month prison sentence, while Chavez, 55, was sentenced to three years of probation, eight months of home detention, and ordered to perform 300 hours of community service.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
