Liu, the figure skater who captivated audiences in Milan and Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo with two gold medals, appeared in a video<\/a> posted April 7 alongside Icelandic singer Laufey<\/strong>. The two danced to \u201cStateside\u201d by PinkPantheress<\/strong> \u2014 the same song Liu used for her free skate at the Olympics.<\/p>\n

Laufey captioned the post, \u201cwelcome to the party @alysaxliu \ud83c\udf3c\ud83e\udde1\u201d.<\/p>\n

Liu reshared it and wrote: \u201cMadwoman let\u2019s gooo,\u201d.<\/p>\n

The post drew reactions from fans, musicians and public figures, including a comment from PinkPantheress herself and a response from the U.S. Figure Skating account.<\/p>\n

About an hour after the dance clip, Laufey posted another TikTok<\/a> that revealed what appears to be Liu\u2019s involvement in a music video for Laufey\u2019s newest song \u201cMadwoman,\u201d alongside KATSEYE member Megan Skiendel<\/strong>, with the caption: \u201cMADWOMAN CAST REVEAL PT 1.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song\u00a0is a track from the deluxe version of her album A Matter of Time: The Final Hour<\/em>, which will be released on April 10, 2026.<\/p>\n

For anyone just tuning in, this pairing didn\u2019t come out of nowhere.<\/p>\n

Alysa Liu and Laufey\u2019s Friendship Started Before the Olympics<\/h2>\n

The connection between Liu and Laufey developed during the Olympics, where Liu used Laufey\u2019s song \u201cPromise\u201d in her short program. But the relationship actually predates the Games.<\/p>\n

Back in September 2025, Liu attended Laufey\u2019s concert in San Francisco and was featured during a \u201cBest Dressed Guest\u201d segment. Laufey\u2019s reaction to spotting an Olympic-caliber figure skater in her audience was pure joy.<\/p>\n

At the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo, Liu won two gold medals, including in the team event and the women\u2019s individual competition. She became the first American woman to win Olympic gold in women\u2019s singles figure skating since 2002.<\/p>\n

Since then, her life has been a nonstop blur of appearances and performances.<\/p>\n

Liu has appeared on programs including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em>, Today<\/em> and 60 Minutes<\/em>. She also presented an award to Taylor Swift<\/strong> at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.<\/p>\n

Following the Olympics, Liu withdrew from the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships, citing scheduling demands and insufficient preparation time. She is currently participating in the Stars on Ice tour in Japan, with additional performances planned in the United States.<\/p>\n
