He\u2019s not walking out on you if you let him. It\u2019s not cheating if you pretend you\u2019re into it. It\u2019s not infidelity \u2014 it\u2019s sexy!\u00a0<\/p>\n
At least that\u2019s what celebrity influencers would like you to think \u2014 such as Nikki Glaser<\/a>, who insisted that her boyfriend sleeping with other women is actually a turn on.<\/p>\n The comedian, 41, said she \u201ckinda [likes] it\u201d when her boyfriend, a fairly unknown TV producer called Chris Convy, hooks up with other women in a Wednesday episode<\/a> of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n Open relationships are controversial enough, but that\u2019s not exactly her setup: \u201cI don\u2019t really care if my boyfriend were to hook up. But that is not a two-way street. I\u2019m not someone who likes to hook up when I\u2019m in a relationship\u2026 But I don\u2019t care if someone else were to.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s trendy to be non-monogamous<\/a> and to be romantically open minded. But so often, it\u2019s women being asked to sit by while their husbands run through other women. They cope by calling it \u201cempowerment,\u201d but it\u2019s a sad way of enabling cheaters while hiding behind progressivism.\u00a0<\/p>\n However, Glaser told Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper<\/a> \u201cemotional cheating\u201d was a step too far \u2014 yet another dubious qualification she uses to justify the unjustifiable.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIf a guy has a sexual connection with a girl, and he wants to use protection and just have sex for a night, I literally wouldn\u2019t care if my husband did that,\u201d she said. \u201cIf he were to\u2026 do crossword puzzles and send memes and stuff [to another woman], I would be like, \u2018What the f\u2014k are you doing?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Glaser \u2014 host of HBO shows \u201cBlind Date\u201d and \u201cFBoy Island<\/a>\u201d \u2014 said she wants \u201ca guy that other girls want.\u201d But what\u2019s special about that, if they can all have him? It\u2019s a symptom of a culture that has devalued sex. If there\u2019s no emotional connection, we\u2019re told, infidelity doesn\u2019t actually matter.<\/p>\n Glaser isn\u2019t the only celeb with this sort of toxic dynamic. Author and comedian Lindy West admitted in her latest book<\/a> \u201cAdult Braces\u201d to capitulating to her husband\u2019s ultimatum that he needs to be able to sleep with other women \u2014 even though the request left her in tears.<\/p>\n \u201cI was devastated,\u201d she told the New York Times<\/a>. \u201cOur initial conversation was a lot of me crying and being like, I don\u2019t want anyone else\u2026 I thought we would probably have a baby and buy a house.\u201d<\/p>\n But now she\u2019s so happy, <\/em>she swears, about her new life with another woman \u2014 her husband\u2019s girlfriend \u2014 in the home her late father left to her.<\/p>\n \u201cI love sleeping in the guest room and crawling into bed with them in the morning,\u201d she writes. \u201cI love when they tuck me in and leave me to play on my phone as late as I want.\u201d Sounds great! You go girl!<\/p>\n It\u2019s a lifestyle that toxic manosphere influencers promote, too, just with a totally different political valance. \u201cFresh and Fit\u201d podcast host Myron Gaines explained he was<\/a> in a similar set-up as Glaser\u2019s in an appearance on the Netflix documentary \u201cInside the Manosphere.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI do what the f\u2014k I want to do,\u201d he boasted. \u201cShe\u2019s loyal to me. It\u2019s monogamous on her end, open on my end. She packs my f\u2014king condoms when I travel, that\u2019s how real it is.\u201d<\/p>\n He calls it \u201cone-way monogamy,\u201d and has rightfully been called a misogynist for choosing the lifestyle; when progressive women celebrities say the same, it\u2019s empowerment! In practice, it\u2019s no different.<\/p>\n Our culture has accepted a truth: men tend more often than women to stray in relationships. But, rather than ask them to be better in their partnerships, progressive feminists have done the most regressive thing possible.<\/p>\n They\u2019ve catered to the patriarchy, and given men permission to go hog wild. They can have all the perks of relationships, plus all the ladies they want on the side.<\/p>\n Perhaps there is the rare one in a million woman who, for whatever reason, is turned on by being left behind while her husband is out with other women. But, for every one of her, there are countless others who have been talked into their own debasement in the name of empowerment.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
