Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), previously denounced Donald Trump in interviews and in social media posts that have since been deleted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show Cowan gave $2,500 on March 4, 2021, to Future First Leadership PAC, the political committee launched by then-Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, who has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/clips\/2022\/07\/22\/kinzinger-children-of-trump-supporters-will-be-ashamed-of-parents\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">become<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> one of Trump\u2019s fiercest Republican critics. Five days after Cowan\u2019s donation, CNN <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/03\/09\/politics\/adam-kinzinger-illinois-voters\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a>,<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u201cRep. Adam Kinzinger wants to save the Republican Party from Donald Trump. His first challenge: Convincing the party it needs to be saved.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"\/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In April 2021, Cowan told <em>USA Today<\/em>, \u201cUntil we had President Trump, I never really saw the conservative movement making an idol out of the party leader where it was a fealty more than a loyalty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He added, \u201cTrump was a dynamic leader, and after eight years of (Barack) Obama the party was looking for someone to bring us out of the wilderness. And instead of him being Moses, some people turned him into God, and I think we lost our way a little.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Archived copies of deleted posts on X, show Cowan made a series of remarks criticizing Trump and his role in the Republican Party.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On January 17, 2021, Cowan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210117135817\/https:\/twitter.com\/JC4Constitution\/status\/1350804193100107777\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">shared<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an article titled, \u201cThe Trump Impeachment Is Deeply Flawed, but He Deserves Conviction,\u201d and wrote, \u201cVery well constructed argument and worth a read.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Less than a month later, on February 12, 2021, Cowan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210212150217\/https:\/twitter.com\/JC4Constitution\/status\/1360242664835342338\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wrote<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201cThe GOP needs to take the energy for change Trump cultivated and channel it back to constitutional principles grounded in facts, truth, and with a \u2018more perfect Union\u2019 ethos. The party is not Trump\u2019s; it is the people\u2019s.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On January 12, 2021, Cowan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210112215815\/https:\/twitter.com\/JC4Constitution\/status\/1349113386693513219\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the events of January 6, 2021, \u201cshould be forever ignominiously known as \u2018Trump\u2019s Rebellion\u2019 so future generations will know the who and what occurred immediately.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On January 15, 2022, Cowan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220116034011\/https:\/twitter.com\/JC4Constitution\/status\/1482556972629168133\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">responded<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to a video of Trump discussing the 2020 election by writing, \u201cHe should\u2019ve taken Hannity\u2019s advice and not mention the election again \u2026 sounds like drunk uncle here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two weeks later, on January 30, 2022, Cowan <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220131030205\/https:\/twitter.com\/JC4Constitution\/status\/1487983185476702216\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stated<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201cAgree Erick. The GOP cannot consider itself the home of the conservative movement with Trump in any form of leadership role.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a9d adSo\"\/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On November 25, 2022, Cowan wrote, \u201cTrump taking a page from MT(G)\u2019s playbook? Both can\u2019t go down in political flames fast enough.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, on December 15, 2022, after Trump announced a digital trading card collection, Cowan expressed, \u201cNot a serious Presidential candidate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cowan is a neurosurgeon from north Georgia who previously ran in the Republican primary for Georgia\u2019s 14th Congressional District, losing to former Rep.
