A 16-year-old boy from Romford has been charged with the murder of Eghosa Ogbebor, 14, who was shot dead in south-east London last week, the Metropolitan police has said.<\/p>\n

Another 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday and remains in custody, the force said.<\/p>\n

The 16-year-old who was charged on Friday will appear at Thames magistrates court on Saturday 11 April. He was first arrested on 4 April and released on bail and was re-arrested on Thursday 9 April.<\/p>\n

An investigation was launched on 2 April after police were called at 3.40pm to Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich after reports of a shooting. Officers attended with the London ambulance service and found Eghosa with serious injuries. He died at the scene.<\/p>\n

Eghosa\u2019s family continue to be supported by specialist officers, the Metropolitan police said.<\/p>\n

The Met said six others arrested in connection with the victim\u2019s death \u2013 boys aged 14, 16 and 16 and men aged 18, 19 and 46 \u2013 have been bailed while inquiries continue.<\/p>\n

The shooting took place on a residential street close to Woolwich Dockyard train station. Anyone with information or footage can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
