One woman\u2019s permanent makeup is another\u2019s arch nemesis.<\/p>\n

Approximately 15 months after getting her eyebrows tattooed, an unidentified 46-year-old woman sought dermatological care for patches of purplish lesions that appeared around her eyebrows and later on non-tattooed areas, including her elbow and upper back.<\/p>\n

According to a medical report published by Oxford<\/a>, a biopsy revealed inflamed granulomas, or non-cancerous clusters of white blood cells.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s one of the tell-tale signs of sarcoidosis, a disease that frequently presents in the lungs or lymph nodes<\/a>, but can \u2014\u00a0roughly a quarter of the time \u2014 cause\u00a0flare-ups on the skin.<\/p>\n
