Al Sharpton <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2026\/04\/10\/kamala-harris-signals-2028-bid-00867069\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">asked<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> directly whether she planned to run again at his National Action Network convention in New York on Friday, Harris replied, \u201cListen, I might, I might. I\u2019m thinking about it,\u201d before adding, \u201cI\u2019ll keep you posted.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harris also told Sharpton, \u201cI know what the job is and what it requires,\u201d underscoring that she has already served as vice president and previously run for president twice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The appearance took place before an audience of black lawmakers, influential power brokers, and voters at what amounted to the first major gathering for the potential 2028 Democratic field. Harris was the sixth possible 2028 contender to take the stage at the convention, following appearances by figures including Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and Rep. Ro Khanna of California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Politico, the crowd repeatedly chanted \u201cRun again! Run again!\u201d during her appearance, prompting Sharpton to joke that \u201cThis is a convention, not a revival.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harris said Friday that she plans to travel soon to South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas. Earlier reports had indicated that her early 2026 schedule would also include South Carolina and cities with large black populations such as Detroit, Jackson, Mississippi; Memphis, Tennessee; and Montgomery, Alabama.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"\/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harris enters the early 2028 Democrat field discussion with a polling advantage over most potential rivals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Race to the White House polling averages <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2026\/02\/15\/kamala-harris-polling-average-leads-2028-democrat-primary-presidential-polls\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in February, Harris held 27.5 percent support among potential Democrat primary voters, ahead of California Gov. Gavin Newsom at 22.7 percent. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stood at nine percent, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg at 8.7 percent, Shapiro at 4.9 percent, and Pritzker at 3.4 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In December 2025, Harris <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2025\/12\/29\/kamala-harris-launches-fight-forthe-people-pac\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">launched<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a political action committee called Fight for the People. In a fundraising message announcing the PAC, Harris said she intended to \u201ctravel, speak out, and help elect Democrats everywhere.\u201d She also described donations as critical ahead of the organization\u2019s first Federal Election Commission deadline.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harris has also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2026\/02\/05\/kamala-harris-campaign-rebrands-in-attempt-to-appeal-to-gen-z\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worked<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in recent months to reconnect with younger voters.
