\n\tColman Domingo<\/a> made his \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d hosting debut Saturday night \u2014 and if you\u2019re not sure where you know him from, he\u2019s got a few guesses. Probably several.<\/p>\n \n\tKicking off his monologue, Domingo acknowledged that after three decades in the business, his resume can be a little hard to pin down. The answer to where you\u2019ve seen him, he suggested, is basically everywhere \u2014 rattling off credits including \u201cFear the Walking Dead,\u201d \u201cSing Sing,\u201d \u201cThe Four Seasons,\u201d \u201cLincoln\u201d \u2014 and then a few he did not appear in. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI was Carly in \u2018iCarly.\u2019 I was inside the C-3PO suit in \u2018Star Wars.\u2019 And I am also your uncle.\u201d He pauses. \u201cYou saw me at your cousin\u2019s wedding in 1994.\u201d The point, he said: \u201cI\u2019m practically in everything, like raisins at a Caucasian cookout.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHe added that he can usually tell which project someone knows him from. \u201cIf you\u2019re a Latin bro, I\u2019m like, oh, \u2018Fear the Walking Dead.\u2019 But if it\u2019s a girl under 20 or a creepy dude over 30, that\u2019s \u2018Euphoria<\/a>.’\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tWith the credentials established, Domingo pivoted to his actual agenda for the evening: vibes. Specifically, the kind he said he serves when you come to his house. \u201cTonight, I\u2019m going to make you feel like you\u2019re at my house,\u201d he said \u2014 then proceeded to direct the entire production toward that end.<\/p>\n \n\tHe called for music and lighting \u201cthat\u2019s extremely flattering for people of color.\u201d Once satisfied he turned to the cameras and issued his next directive: \u201cCan I get a sexy slow push on this?\u201d Then he quipped, \u201cAlso, I\u2019m 56 so boom up the hell up.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tCast member Jeremy Culhane, summoned into the monologue, was directed to gaze into the camera. What followed was a wide-eyed stare into the wrong camera that, once the crew found the right angle, devolved into an unsettling mog.<\/p>\n \n\tDomingo then took to the audience, working the crowd with the ease of someone who has, in fact, been doing this since the \u201990s. When he asked one woman what brought her to the show, she said she\u2019d gotten tickets from someone who worked there. \u201cInside connection,\u201d Domingo said approvingly. \u201cThat\u2019s hot.\u201d He asked if it was someone in the cast. \u201cNo,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was a writer.\u201d Domingo turned back to the audience jokingly disappointed. \u201cDon\u2019t tell people that.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tBy the end, the vibe had apparently gotten away from him slightly \u2014 a couple in the audience was making out. \u201cThey\u2019re straight,\u201d Domingo joked. \u201cYou don\u2019t see that every day.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHe wrapped things up the way he said he always ends a party at his place: by telling everyone to get out so he could take a fiber pill and go to bed \u2014 but not tonight. \u201cWe\u2019ve got a show to do, so boom up!\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tWatch Domingo\u2019s monologue below.<\/p>\n
