The husband arrested in connection with his wife\u2019s disappearance in the Bahamas<\/a> described the events of the night she vanished as a \u201ccascade of failures\u201d \u2014 admitting that he \u201ccan\u2019t really explain\u201d what happened in a frank call to a friend.<\/p>\n

Brian Hooker, 59, is still being questioned by police in the Caribbean<\/a> after he said his wife, Lynette, 55, fell overboard off a small dinghy as they returned to their yacht on April 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a cascade of failures, and it\u2019s something I\u2019m never going to forgive myself for,\u201d Hooker said in the call to a friend made April 7, and verified by CBS News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe stayed too long, we left too dark, all kinds of s\u2013t,\u201d Hooker continued, speaking in a calm voice.<\/p>\n
