I don\u2019t want 90 per cent, I don\u2019t want 95pc. I told them, I want everything. They have no cards,\u201d he during a phone interview on the <em>Fox News<\/em> show \u2018Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo\u2019.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  w-full  w-full  media--left    media--uneven  media--stretch\" data-original-src=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043316559817347219\">\n<div class=\"media__item  media__item--twitter  \"><span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n        <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043316559817347219\"><\/a>\n    <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>He also reiterated his threat to destroy Iran\u2019s power plants and other civilian energy infrastructure if no deal was reached to end the conflict in the Middle East, which began with the US and Israel launching strikes on Iran on February 28.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could take out Iran in one day,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI could have their entire energy, everything, every one of their plants, their electric generating plants, which is a big deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, he posted on his Truth Social platform that talks with Iran in Islamabad had yielded progress on \u201cmost points\u201d but failed to secure agreement on Tehran\u2019s nuclear programme.<\/p>\n<p>Delegations from the two sides, with Ghalibaf leading the Iranian side and US Vice President JD Vance leading Washington\u2019s effort, had met in Islamabad on Saturday for talks mediated by Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1990743\/dar-urges-us-iran-to-uphold-commitment-to-ceasefire-as-talks-conclude-without-deal#:~:text=The%20trilateral%20talks%2C%20which%20commenced%20on%20Saturday%20afternoon%2C%20saw\"><u>trilateral talks<\/u><\/a>, which commenced on Saturday afternoon, saw the US and Iranian delegations engage in discussions over three sessions, with teams of experts from the two parties exchanging written texts after each session.<\/p>\n<p>After discussions that went on for at least 20 hours, Vance held a press conference in the federal capital on Sunday morning, announcing that \u201cunfortunately, we were unable to make any headway\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in his first comments after the conclusion of the dialogue between the two sides, said it was now time for the United States to decide whether it could \u201cearn\u201d Tehran\u2019s trust.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1990743\/dar-urges-us-iran-to-uphold-commitment-to-ceasefire-as-talks-conclude-without-deal#:~:text=%E2%80%98No%20agreement%20expected%20from%20single%20session%E2%80%99\"><u>remarks<\/u><\/a> carried by Iranian state media, said the delegations reached \u201cunderstanding\u201d on several issues. However, he stated that \u201con 2-3 important issues, views were far apart, and ultimately, the talks did not lead to an agreement\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a lengthy statement on Turth Social, Trump said the nearly 20-hour meeting had gone \u201cwell\u201d overall, but stressed that the \u201conly point that really mattered\u201d \u2014 Iran\u2019s nuclear ambitions \u2014 remained unresolved.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media  w-full  w-full  media--left    media--uneven  media--stretch\" data-original-src=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043320740141748369\">\n<div class=\"media__item  media__item--twitter  \"><span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n        <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043320740141748369\"><\/a>\n    <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Trump further said he had been fully debriefed by Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on the meeting held in Islamabad, which he said took place under the leadership of Pakistan\u2019s Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.<\/p>\n<p>He described the Pakistani leadership as \u201cextraordinary\u201d, adding that they had thanked him for what he claimed was his role in preventing a potential war with India that could have cost millions of lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been fully debriefed by Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, on the meeting that took place in Islamabad through the kind and very competent leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan. They are very extraordinary men, and continuously thank me for saving 30 to 50 million lives in what would have been a horrendous War with India. I always appreciate hearing that \u2014 The amount of Humanity spoken of is incomprehensible,\u201d said the US president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn many ways, the points that were agreed to are better than us continuing our Military Operations to conclusion, but all of those points don\u2019t matter compared to allowing Nuclear Power to be in the hands of such volatile, difficult, unpredictable people,\u201d said Trump in the Truth Social post.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said his representatives became \u201cvery friendly and respectful\u201d towards their Iranian counterparts during the prolonged talks, despite deep differences between the two sides.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Iranian officials, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Ali Bagheri, remained \u201cunyielding\u201d on what he described as the most important issue \u2014 Tehran\u2019s nuclear programme.<\/p>\n<p>He reiterated that Iran would \u201cnever have a nuclear weapon\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"us-will-block-passage-through-hormuz\" href=\"#us-will-block-passage-through-hormuz\" class=\"heading-permalink\" aria-hidden=\"true\" title=\"Permalink\"><\/a>\u2018US will block passage through Hormuz\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>In a surprise announcement, Trump said the United States Navy would begin the process of blockading vessels entering or leaving the Strait of Hormuz, citing concerns over maritime security and alleging that Iran had threatened shipping in the waterway.<\/p>\n<p>The key shipping lane off the coast of Iran has been virtually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1983415\"><u>blocked<\/u><\/a> by Tehran since the United States and Israel started <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1976377\"><u>bombing<\/u><\/a> Iran on February 28, though reopening the strait was ostensibly a condition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawn.com\/news\/1989584\/trump-stops-bombing-iran-after-conversations-with-pm-shehbaz-sharif-field-marshal-asim-munir-iran-us-agree-to-two-week-ceasefire\"><u>ceasefire<\/u><\/a> put in place earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>He added that US forces had been instructed to interdict vessels in international waters that had paid what he described as \u201cillegal tolls\u201d to Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Trump further warned of military consequences if Iranian forces targeted US or commercial vessels, saying Washington remained prepared to escalate its response.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!
