\n\tDuring a recent appearance on \u201cHot Ones Versus<\/a>\u201d opposite Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston<\/a> defended his \u201cBreaking Bad<\/a>\u201d wife, Skyler White, played by Anna Gunn, who was vilified by fans of the Vince Gilligan<\/a> drama for getting in the way of Walter White\u2019s criminal antics.<\/p>\n \n\tCranston was prompted to justify Skyler\u2019s behavior after Muiz declared he \u201cloved \u2018Breaking Bad\u2019\u201d but \u201chated Skyler.\u201d He said that \u201call she did was complain\u201d and thought Walter\u2019s life would\u2019ve been \u201cso much easier\u201d without her.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cNow, see, she got a lot of blowback from that,\u201d Cranston replied. \u201cWell, first of all, Anna Gunn is a superb actor, but she got, \u2018Oh, why don\u2019t you get off his back?\u2019 Wait a minute. Let me understand this. Her husband leaves without any explanation, she\u2019s pregnant, he\u2019s making crystal methamphetamine and people have died. And she\u2019s the bitch? Like, we couldn\u2019t understand.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tMuiz then replied, \u201cWhen you put it that way, I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cBreaking Bad,\u201d which debuted on AMC in 2008, is widely considered to be one of the best television dramas of all time. It follows Cranston as Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who, after being diagnosed with lung cancer, starts cooking and selling meth as a way to support his family. It won 16 Emmys during its five-season run. Alongside Cranston and Gunn, \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d starred Aaron Paul, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks and Giancarlo Esposito.<\/p>\n \n\tThis isn\u2019t the first time someone from the \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d camp addressed the fan hate toward Skyler. In a 2022 profile with the New Yorker, Gilligan said he and Gunn were both \u201ctroubled\u201d by the undeserved hostility.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cBack when the show first aired, Skyler was roundly disliked,\u201d Gilligan said<\/a>. \u201cI think that always troubled Anna Gunn. And I can tell you it always troubled me, because Skyler, the character, did nothing to deserve that. And Anna certainly did nothing to deserve that. She played the part beautifully.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
