President Trump slammed\u00a0Pope Leo XIV<\/a>\u00a0for being \u201cweak on crime\u201d and \u201cterrible for foreign policy\u201d in a lengthy Truth Social post following the American pontiff\u2019s veiled rebukes of the Iran war.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cPope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,\u201d\u00a0Trump wrote<\/a>\u00a0Sunday night.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t want a Pope who thinks it\u2019s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. I don\u2019t want a Pope who thinks it\u2019s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I don\u2019t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I\u2019m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do, setting Record Low Numbers in Crime, and creating the Greatest Stock Market in History.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s rambling post comes just one day after Pope Leo condemned the \u201cidolatry of self\u201d<\/a> and \u201cdelusion of omnipotence\u201d at play in the US-Israel war in Iran during a prayer service in Rome.\u00a0<\/p>\n While Leo hasn\u2019t called out Trump by name, he has consistently condemned the war in Iran and urged government officials on all sides to lay down their weapons.\u00a0<\/p>\n
