Axel Rudakubana was able to carry out the Southport atrocity<\/a> because of \u201ccatastrophic\u201d failures by multiple agencies and the \u201cirresponsible and harmful\u201d role of his parents, a damning inquiry has found.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sir Adrian Fulford condemned the \u201cinappropriate merry-go-round\u201d of state bodies passing the buck and their \u201cfrankly depressing\u201d refusal to accept responsibility, saying: \u201cThis culture has to end.\u201d<\/p>\n

The inquiry chair said the murder of the three young girls \u2013 Bebe King, six, Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven \u2013 and stabbing of 10 others was not \u201ca bolt of lightning out of a clear blue sky\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cInstead, some form of grave violence \u2026 had been clearly, repeatedly and unambiguously signposted over many years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndeed, several professionals who had direct contact with [Rudakubana] expressed serious fears, sometimes in stark terms, that he would go on to harm or kill.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rudakubana was jailed for life last year after his ferocious assault on young girls at a Taylor Swift-themed holiday club in the Merseyside town on 29 July 2024.<\/p>\n
