{"id":49661,"date":"2026-04-13T16:23:43","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T16:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=49661"},"modified":"2026-04-13T16:23:43","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T16:23:43","slug":"no-request-received-to-help-u-s-hormuz-blockade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=49661","title":{"rendered":"No Request Received to Help U.S. Hormuz Blockade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">Left-wing Australian PM Anthony Albanese said Canberra has not received a request from the United States to help with its \u201cunilateral\u201d blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as announced by President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve made this announcement overnight and they\u2019ve done that in a unilateral way and we haven\u2019t been asked to participate,\u201d Albanese <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/national\/politics\/australia-wasnt-consulted-on-the-us-plan-to-blockade-the-strait-of-hormuz\/news-story\/f7aadf764b9c6cf1858a0d6530efa9c2\">told<\/a> Channel Nine\u2019s the\u00a0<em>Today Show<\/em> on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve received no requests that we haven\u2019t agreed to. The request we\u2019ve received was for support for Gulf countries, particularly the UAE, and that\u2019s why we sent our Wedgetail aircraft that\u2019s been doing amazing work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/middle-east\/2026\/04\/12\/we-are-fully-locked-and-loaded-president-trump-u-s-navy-blockades-strait-of-hormuz\/\">announced<\/a> on Sunday the U.S. Navy will begin blockading \u201cany and all Ships trying to enter, or leave\u201d the Strait of Hormuz. The announcement came hours after Vice President JD Vance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2026\/04\/11\/no-deal-vance-walks-away-from-iran-talks-in-pakistan-after-tehran-rejects-american-requirements-for-peace\/\">said<\/a> that the U.S. delegation decided to leave peace talk hosted in Pakistan with Iran representatives after the Iranian regime officials refused to agree to the United States\u2019 terms.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that the U.S. Navy blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will begin on Monday, April 13, at 10:00 a.m. (EST).<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\"><strong><em>RELATED:\u00a0What Navy? Footage Shows Obliteration of Islamist Regime\u2019s Ships<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"\/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"rumble\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/rumble.com\/embed\/v74vz3y\/?pub=he97b\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman,\u201d CENTCOM detailed on a social media <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CENTCOM\/status\/2043432050921718194\">post<\/a>, noting that U.S. forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we want is for negotiations to resume. We want to see an end to the loss of life and the loss of infrastructure, civil, in the Middle East. And we want to see trade resume.
