{"id":50348,"date":"2026-04-14T09:52:03","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T09:52:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=50348"},"modified":"2026-04-14T09:52:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T09:52:03","slug":"iran-called-seeking-deal-very-badly-as-u-s-blockade-begins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=50348","title":{"rendered":"Iran \u2018Called\u2019 Seeking Deal \u2018Very Badly\u2019 as U.S. Blockade Begins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"subheading\">President Donald Trump said Monday that the \u201cright people\u201d in Iran have reached out seeking to \u201cmake a deal \u2014 very badly\u201d after talks collapsed over the weekend, insisting Tehran will \u201cnever\u201d be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon as the United States simultaneously moved forward with a naval blockade targeting Iranian ports to increase pressure.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\">Speaking outside the White House following the collapse of roughly 21 hours of Pakistan-mediated negotiations in Islamabad over the weekend \u2014 and as the U.S. blockade targeting Iranian ports took effect \u2014 Trump said Tehran had reengaged despite failing to reach an agreement.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"\/>\n<p data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"861\">\u201cWe\u2019ve been called by the other side,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThey\u2019d like to make a deal \u2014 very badly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"863\" data-end=\"1028\">Trump made clear the talks collapsed over Iran\u2019s refusal to meet Washington\u2019s core demand that it abandon its nuclear ambitions and relinquish its enriched material.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2043732585725964635\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TrumpWarRoom\/status\/2043732585725964635\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1030\" data-end=\"1211\">\u201cIran will not have a nuclear weapon, and we agreed to a lot of things, but they didn\u2019t agree to that,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043734546093363216?s=20\">said<\/a>. \u201cIf they don\u2019t agree, there\u2019s no deal. There\u2019ll never be a deal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\" data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1439\">He added that the United States intends to recover Iran\u2019s remaining highly enriched uranium stockpile \u2014 referring to it as \u201cthe dust\u201d \u2014 saying, \u201cwe\u2019re going to get it back\u2026 either we\u2019ll get it back from them or we\u2019ll take it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a9d\"\/>\n<p data-start=\"1441\" data-end=\"1595\">Trump also expressed confidence Tehran would ultimately concede, saying, \u201cI think they will agree to it. I\u2019m almost sure of it. In fact, I am sure of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1597\" data-end=\"1786\">The remarks come after Trump said late Sunday that he was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2026\/04\/13\/trump-says-he-doesnt-care-if-iran-returns-to-talks-if-they-dont-come-back-im-fine\/\">unconcerned<\/a> whether or not Iran returned to talks, underscoring his position that Tehran lacks leverage following the failed negotiations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"2035\">The U.S. blockade, which began at 10:00 a.m. Eastern on Monday, targets vessels entering or exiting Iranian ports while allowing ships to continue transiting the Strait of Hormuz so long as they are not engaging with Iran, according to U.S. Central Command.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2043733783078187281\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043733783078187281\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2037\" data-end=\"2163\">Trump framed the move as a response to Iran\u2019s actions in the strait, accusing Tehran of using global energy flows as leverage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2165\" data-end=\"2307\">\u201cWe can\u2019t let a country blackmail or extort the world because that\u2019s what they\u2019re doing,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThey\u2019re really blackmailing the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\" data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2416\">He added that global shipping patterns are already shifting, with increased demand for U.S. energy exports.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a9d adSo\"\/>\n<p data-start=\"2418\" data-end=\"2505\">\u201cA lot of tankers are coming up here,\u201d he said. \u201cThey\u2019re coming in empty and out full.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2507\" data-end=\"2705\">In a Truth Social post earlier Monday, Trump warned that any Iranian vessels approaching the blockade would be \u201cimmediately ELIMINATED,\u201d while claiming Iran\u2019s navy had been \u201ccompletely obliterated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2043697208214655102\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/clashreport\/status\/2043697208214655102\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2707\" data-end=\"2942\">In a separate post, Trump noted that 34 ships transited the Strait of Hormuz the previous day \u2014 the highest number since the disruption began \u2014 signaling that traffic not tied to Iranian ports is continuing despite heightened tensions.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2043729854646874123\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043729854646874123\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2944\" data-end=\"3122\">When asked what will happen if a deal is not reached before the end of the ceasefire, Trump declined to elaborate but <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RapidResponse47\/status\/2043734858623603196?s=20\">warned<\/a>\u00a0that \u201cit won\u2019t be pleasant for them, let me put it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3124\" data-end=\"3339\">Negotiations remain at an impasse, with disputes over uranium enrichment and Iran\u2019s existing stockpile continuing to serve as the central obstacle, even as mediators work to bridge gaps before the ceasefire expires.<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><em>Joshua Klein is a reporter for Breitbart News.
