On Monday, Webber\u2019s attorney asserted that his client acted in self-defense in what was, he says, a \u201ckill or be killed\u201d confrontation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had to kill or be killed. That\u2019s what this case is,\u201d said Webber\u2019s attorney, Hammad Martin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the evidence is going to be clear that this was not planned, something that was not premeditated,\u201d the attorney added. \u201cThis was someone in fear who did not know how to handle a situation that was such a traumatic event. This has always been a self-defense case. He is not guilty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/t\/assets\/html\/tweet-5.html#2036205073618051158\" data-btlnk=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CollinRugg\/status\/2036205073618051158\" class=\"bnn-if-tweet\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"260\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Webber is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/sports\/2026\/03\/24\/video-shows-quad-amputee-murder-suspect-loading-and-shooting-a-gun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accused<\/a>\u00a0of having a hand in the death of 27-year-old Bradrick Michael Wells, who police say Webber killed during an argument.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Webber shot Wells while the victim was riding in the passenger\u2019s side seat of the cornhole player\u2019s vehicle. Webber allegedly turned to two passengers in the back seat of his Tesla and asked them to help pull Wells from the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\">They refused and got out of the vehicle. Webber then drove off with the victim still in the car.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\">Prosecutors sharply dispute the idea that Webber\u2019s shooting of Wells was a case of self-defense.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\">\u201cWe\u2019re dealing with a homicide,\u201d said Charles County Deputy State\u2019s Attorney Karen Piper Mitchell. \u201cSomebody lost their life, and from that base perspective, our job is to make sure we put the case together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\">\u201c[Webber] became the first quadruple amputee in the history of the American Cornhole League, and went pro during the 2021-2022 season, according to the Baltimore Watchdog, eventually climbing the ranks to become the best player in Maryland,\u201d the <em>New York Post<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/13\/us-news\/quadruple-amputee-cornhole-pro-indicted-on-first-degree-murder-charges-as-lawyer-claims-self-defense\/?utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=nypost\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a9d-pre\">Webber could face life in prison if convicted.
