Thursday on ABC\u2019s \u201cThe View,\u201d\u00a0CNBC host Sara Eisen said the stock market liked President Donald Trump, which is causing \u201ca lot of upbeat sentiment from companies.\u201d<\/p>\n
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, \u201cI do want to ask you about the market, because it seems that the market doesn\u2019t really pay attention to who is president. The market does what it does.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eisen said, \u201cActually, the market likes who is president I think.\u201d<\/p>\n
Co-host Sunny Hostin said, \u201cOh, interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n
Eisen said, \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of upbeat sentiment from companies and from investors about policies that are helpful for growth. You know, deregulation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hostin said, \u201cDo you think the tariffs are helpful for growth?\u201d<\/p>\n Eisen said, \u201cThe tariffs usually wouldn\u2019t be helpful for growth, but they haven\u2019t been as bad as everybody expected.\u201d<\/p>\n Co-host Joy Behar said, \u201cBut it helps for rich people. It doesn\u2019t help poor people or middle-income people.\u201d<\/p>\n Eisen said, \u201cFair. But you know, when the tariffs were announced, everyone thought it would be like massive inflation and the market would fall apart, and the economy, and it hasn\u2019t. Companies have absorbed it.
