\u200bIsraeli<\/a> attacks killed five people in\u00a0Gaza\u00a0<\/a>on Thursday, the territory’s health officials said, \u200band the Israeli military said it killed a militant who posed a threat to its forces in the south of the enclave.<\/p>\n Medics said an Israeli airstrike \u200bagainst a \u200cgroup of Palestinians in\u00a0Gaza\u00a0City’s Tuffah neighbourhood in \u2060northern Gaza\u00a0killed two people and wounded several others.<\/p>\n Five people were killed and several others injured, some critically, \u200cin Israeli drone strikes on two police checkpoints in southern\u00a0Gaza\u2019s \u2060Khan Younis and in the Abu Hujair area northwest of the Bureij refugee camp later in the day, medics said.<\/p>\n The Israeli military \u200bdid not immediately comment on the reports.<\/p>\n Read more<\/span>World Central Kitchen urges international community not to forget Ukraine and Gaza<\/a><\/p>\n Separately, the Israeli military \u200csaid forces operating in the southern\u00a0Gaza\u00a0Strip killed a militant who posed an imminent threat to them after he crossed into an area still occupied by Israel \u200cinside the enclave.<\/p>\n It described the incident as a violation of the US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas \u200bthat began last October.<\/p>\n Gaza\u00a0has been reduced to rubble in the war that was triggered by an attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas<\/a> on southern Israel \u200bon October 7, 2023 in which 1,200 people were killed, according to \u200bIsraeli tallies.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Gaza\u00a0health ministry says more than \u200b72,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed by Israeli fire since then.<\/p>\n It also says that at least \u200b600 people have been killed by Israeli fire since a ceasefire agreement came into effect last October.<\/p>\n Israel has said four soldiers have been killed by militants in\u00a0Gaza\u00a0since the ceasefire<\/a> began. Both sides have traded blame for violations of \u2060the truce.<\/p>\n In January, the\u00a0Gaza\u00a0deal moved into a second phase in which Israel is expected \u2060to withdraw \u200btroops further from\u00a0Gaza, and Hamas is due to yield control of the territory’s administration.<\/p>\n
