In her first interview since announcing the split, Garner said Affleck was the \u201clove of her life.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t marry the big fat movie star; I married him,\u201d she told Vanity Fair in 2016. \u201cAnd I would go back and remake that decision. I ran down the beach to him, and I would again. You can\u2019t have these three babies and so much of what we had. He\u2019s the love of my life.\u201d<\/p>\nOn a recent episode of Bustle\u2019s \u201cOne Nightstand\u201d podcast, the \u201cAlias\u201d actress discussed the sacrifices she and Affleck made while raising their three children. The couple\u2019s marriage lasted roughly two years. Lopez and Affleck married in 2022 and finalized their divorce in January 2025.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Affleck appeared on \u201cGood Morning America,\u201d where he admitted that he and Garner would be \u201cconnected\u201d forever.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201c<\/em>I didn\u2019t want to\u00a0get divorced, I didn\u2019t want to be a divorced person, I really didn\u2019t want to be a split family with my children,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cIt upset me because it meant I wasn\u2019t who I thought I was and that was so painful and so disappointing. In myself.\u201d<\/p>\n\u201cWhen you have children with somebody, you\u2019re connected to them forever,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I\u2019m very lucky she is the mother of my children. I\u2019m very grateful and respectful of her. Our marriage didn\u2019t work, and that\u2019s difficult. Both of us really believe that it\u2019s important for kids to see their parents respect one another and get along, whether they\u2019re together or not.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
