Pakistan has declared an \u201copen war\u201d against neighbouring Afghanistan<\/strong> after both sides traded deadly tit-for-tat cross-border fire last night<\/strong> with explosions reported in Kabul and other major Afghan cities.<\/p>\n Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq (roughly translated as \u201cRighteous Fury\u201d) against the Afghan Taliban<\/a> in response to what it called \u201cunprovoked firing\u201d in multiple locations across the border<\/strong>. According to local reports, Pakistani forces launched airstrikes against military targets in the Afghan capital, Kabul<\/strong>, as well as in Kandahar and Paktia provinces close to the border.<\/p>\n \u201cOur patience has now run out.
