Stormy Phillips, 30, and Kelly Rogers, 29, captured the moment they surprised one another by proposing at the same time.<\/p>\n
The couple, who have been together for three and a half years, both dropped hints about engagement rings around Christmas 2025.<\/p>\n
Without the other one knowing, they both got each other\u2019s rings designed in the same month and decided to use their annual summer trip for the proposal.<\/p>\n
The couple is avid hikers, so when the opportunity for a hike in the Swiss mountains arose, they both knew it was the perfect opportunity.<\/p>\nStormy Phillips, 30, and Kelly Rogers, 29, captured the moment they surprised one another by proposing at the same time. Stormy Phillips \/ SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nStormy, a capital consultant based in Charleston, South Carolina, said: \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen Kelly got down on one knee, I was so shocked and then immediately so excited to do the same for her.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a real magical moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kelly and Stormy met at the gym when they both lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, and were friends for months before starting to date.<\/p>\nThe couple is avid hikers, so when the opportunity for a hike in the Swiss mountains arose, they both knew it was the perfect opportunity. Stormy Phillips \/ SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe couple moved from Charlotte to Charleston in April 2023 and has lived there together since.<\/p>\n
Stormy said, \u201cWe just happened to go to the same gym and became fast friends.<\/p>\n
\u201cAbout three or four months in is when we started dating after I confessed my feelings for her.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter the move, we knew we wanted to get married, but were in no rush.<\/p>\nKelly and Stormy met at the gym when they both lived in Charlotte, North Carolina, and were friends for months before starting to date. Stormy Phillips \/ SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cThat was until Kelly pointed out a video of a particular type of engagement ring, and started dropping hints.\u201d<\/p>\n
Both women were under the assumption that there was no rush to get engaged, but that quickly changed when Kelly dropped a hint about an engagement ring.<\/p>\n
After that, Stormy subtly told Kelly her own ring preferences, and they both reached out to designers without the other one knowing.<\/p>\n
Stormy said, \u201cWhen she showed me the ring she thought was cute, that was my signal to go ahead.<\/p>\nBoth thought to pop the question whilst hiking on their annual summer trip. Stormy Phillips \/ SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cLittle did I know, she was just trying to get my thoughts out of me so she could go and design a ring for me!<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m pretty sure we were both designing our rings in the same month, but with different designers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe one I got for her arrived in March, and I think the one she bought arrived in early April.\u201d<\/p>\n
Both thought to pop the question whilst hiking on their annual summer trip.<\/p>\n

Both Stormy and Kelly also both planned to meet up with friends who lived in Amsterdam to celebrate, so their friends had to lie to them both simultaneously.<\/p>\n
Stormy said, \u201cI was thinking about how to propose, but then Kelly just kept suggesting and planning different hiking routes for when we were in Switzerland.<\/p>\nWithout the other one knowing, they both got each other\u2019s rings designed in the same month and decided to use their annual summer trip for the proposal. Stormy Phillips \/ SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cI was thinking \u2018Oh great- I don\u2019t have to plan much of Kelly\u2019s proposal myself,\u2019 having no clue that she was actually planning mine.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur friends who are based in Amsterdam were actually getting confused trying to keep up with which of us had told them what \u2013 it was so funny!\u201d<\/p>\n
Stormy was able to capture the romantic moment on video, where Kelly unexpectedly got down on one knee mid-hike.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cWe were both silent for the first part of the rainy hike, both thinking the same nervous thoughts.<\/p>\nKelly Rogers\u2019 ring is seen above. Stormy Phillips \/ SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cOnce the weather had cleared, we stopped at this beautiful view, and Kelly suggested taking some photos.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had no idea we were working together to make the proposal happen.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reveal felt epic, and I was so happy to return the favor.\u201d<\/p>\n
Stormy and Kelly spent the rest of the hike laughing and filling each other in on what the other had been up to.<\/p>\n\u201cWe\u2019re now planning a road trip around Portugal with both of our mothers in July to tour venues for our wedding,\u201d Stormy said. Stormy Phillips \/ SWNS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThey went on to Amsterdam to celebrate with friends and are now planning their 2027 Portugal wedding.<\/p>\n
Stormy said, \u201cWe continued the hike and just chatted about everything each of us missed.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re now planning a road trip around Portugal with both of our mothers in July to tour venues for our wedding.<\/p>\n
