Fox News has doxed Gov. Gavin Newsom\u2019s contentious director of communications \u2014 publishing Isaac \u201cIzzy\u201d Gardon\u2019s generous \u201ctaxpayer-funded\u201d salary after he told a reporter from another publication to \u201cfuck off\u201d after she pressed him about the governor\u2019s dyslexia diagnosis.<\/p>\n
When Real Clear Politics (RCP) national correspondent Susan Crabtree asked Gardon for verification on Newsom\u2019s childhood disability diagnosis earlier this week, he responded on X:<\/p>\n \u201cHey Susan \u2014 thanks for reaching out. Respectfully, fuck off.\u201d<\/p>\n Interest in the governor\u2019s reading disability was sparked by Newsom\u2019s book tour this month when Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens (D) asked the animated politician what he hoped readers would take away from his diagnosis when reading about it in the book.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m like you,\u201d Newsom told him. \u201cI\u2019m no better than you. You know, I\u2019m a 960 SAT guy.\u201d<\/p>\n Newsom was criticized online and by Fox evening hosts that he was essentially implying blacks could not read well and was pandering to the black community.<\/p>\n When Crabtree asked Gargan for \u201cpaperwork\u201d on the dyslexia diagnosis, Gargan hit the RCP White House and National Political Correspondent with the profane response.<\/p>\n The response appeared to be in line with the office\u2019s over-the-top approach.<\/p>\n \u201cNewsom\u2019s press office has been known to meet the White House\u2019s pointed and often hostile social media posts targeting Democrats, which frequently include AI generated images, with similarly hostile social media posts targeting Trump and Republicans,\u201d according to Fox Digital.<\/p>\n Fox Digital responded by joining the fray, mining Transparent California, a statewide public pay and pension database.<\/p>\n It reported:<\/p>\n Gardon has risen in stature from an administrative assistant making around $30,000 per year in 2019, to earning $212,154.02 in 2024 as a senior assistant and communications director in Newsom\u2019s office.<\/p>\n Gardon\u2019s \u201cregular pay\u201d in 2024 was $152,091.05. That was also supplemented by nearly $57,000 in benefits and another $3,141.16 in \u201cother pay,\u201d according to the database, leading to a combined annual payment of $212,154.02.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Fox then reached out for comment from the communications director.<\/p>\n \u201cSusan (Crabtree) is not a journalist\u201d he told the outlet. \u201cShe\u2019s a MAGA blogger who writes about conspiracy theories.\u201d<\/p>\n Gardon could also be carrying some old resentments\u00a0against the reporter. As Breitbart News reported<\/a>, a year ago she authored a book about California corruption and the state\u2019s decline with fellow investigative reporter Jedd McFatter from the Government Accountability Institute.<\/p>\n\n
