{"id":7312,"date":"2026-02-28T09:38:19","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T09:38:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=7312"},"modified":"2026-02-28T09:38:19","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T09:38:19","slug":"trump-orders-federal-agencies-to-stop-using-anthropics-ai-models-says-leftwing-nut-jobs-made-disastrous-mistake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/foreignnewstoday.com\/?p=7312","title":{"rendered":"Trump orders federal agencies to stop using Anthropic&#8217;s AI models, says &#8216;leftwing nut jobs&#8217; made &#8216;disastrous mistake&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<br \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>President Trump said Friday that he has directed all federal agencies to \u201cimmediately cease\u201d working with Anthropic, blasting the AI company\u2019s leadership as \u201cleftwing nut jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The scathing announcement from Trump brought an abrupt end to a major dispute between Anthropic and the Pentagon, which had <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/24\/business\/defense-sec-pete-hegseth-gives-anthropic-friday-deadline-to-remove-military-ai-restrictions-or-face-potential-blacklisting\/\">given the company until 5:01 p.m. Eastern Time Friday<\/a> to remove safeguards on how its Claude chatbot could be used by the US military.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Leftwing nut jobs at Anthropic have made a DISASTROUS MISTAKE trying to STRONG-ARM the Department of War, and force them to obey their Terms of Service instead of our Constitution,\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116144552969293195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote in a Truth Social post<\/a>. \u201cTheir selfishness is putting AMERICAN LIVES at risk, our Troops in danger, and our National Security in JEOPARDY.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>President Trump ordered federal agencies to stop using Anthropic. <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, I am directing EVERY Federal Agency in the United States Government to IMMEDIATELY CEASE all use of Anthropic\u2019s technology,\u201d the president continued. \u201cWe don\u2019t need it, we don\u2019t want it, and will not do business with them again!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon declined to comment. Anthropic representatives did not immediately return a request for comment.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The president said there \u201cwill be a six-month phase-out period\u201d for the Pentagon and other agencies that are using Anthropic\u2019s models. The company signed a $200 million contract with the Pentagon just last July.<\/p>\n<p>Trump said he would use the \u201cFull Power of the Presidency to make them comply, with major civil and criminal consequences to follow\u201d if Anthropic was uncooperative during the transition period.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is pictured. <span class=\"credit\">REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Anthropic and its CEO Dario Amodei have objected to any use of their technology that would enable mass surveillance of Americans or powering weapons capable of firing without human oversight.
