He added that Iran\u2019s response was a \u201clegitimate act of self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has sharply escalated tensions and risks far-reaching consequences across the region. It is particularly regrettable that this attack has come in the midst of negotiations being facilitated by Oman,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe call on Israel and the United States to immediately end this bombing campaign against Iran, so that dialogue can resume and peace can return to the Middle East,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
