The latest polling from the Texas U.S. Senate race for the Democrat nomination shows Rep. Jasmine Crockett (Dallas) stomping all over Rep. James Talarico (Austin).<\/p>\n
Better still, this is shaping up to be a Barry Obama v. Kamala Harris race, as well.<\/p>\n The primary election is just days away, this coming Tuesday, March 3.<\/p>\n A University of Texas at Tyler poll<\/a> taken between February 13-22 of 1,117 registered voters and 959 likely voters shows Crockett with 55 percent support to Talarico\u2019s 37 percent. That is way outside the poll\u2019s 3.2 point margin of error.<\/p>\n In late January, the University of Houston conducted a poll and found Crockett up eight points<\/a>.<\/p>\n However, polling in this Democrat primary has been screwy.<\/p>\n Another poll taken in January had Talarico <\/em>up nine points<\/a>. Oh, and a poll taken just last week had Talarico up twelve points<\/a>.<\/p>\n So, who knows?<\/p>\n What we do know is that former Vice President Kamala Harris is doing robocalls for Crockett\u2026<\/p>\n \u201cTexas has the chance to send a fighter like Jasmine Crockett to the United States Senate,\u201d the Harris robocall tells<\/a> voters in Dallas. \u201cJasmine has the experience and record to hold Donald Trump and his billionaire cronies accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n Harris ends the call with, \u201cIt\u2019s time to turn Texas blue,\u201d and then asks voters if they want fries with that.<\/p>\n For his part, back in October, Obama gave Talarico a boost:<\/p>\n \u201cTalarico also has fans in the upper echelons of the party,\u201d reports<\/a> the Texas Tribune<\/em>. \u201cFormer President Barack Obama called Talarico \u2018a really talented young man\u2019 during a\u00a0podcast interview in October, a clip that Talarico\u2019s campaign\u00a0has promoted\u00a0more recently.\u201d<\/p>\n There\u2019s little question most of the Democrat establishment wants to see Talarico win, believing he\u2019ll have the best chance to defeat the Republican, who will either be incumbent U.S. Sen. John Cornyn or Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (who\u2019s leading<\/a> in most polls). The strongest evidence of this is establishment toady Stephen Colbert, who made a fool of himself shilling for Talarico.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, on his basement-rated Late Show<\/em>, Colbert lied about CBS telling him<\/a> he could not have Talarico on as a guest. The truth is that CBS merely informed Colbert of the FCC\u2019s longstanding \u201cequal time\u201d rule that would require Colbert \u2014 due to the closeness of the primary election \u2014 to also host Crockett.<\/p>\n Well, rather than host Crockett, Colbert invented a censorship lie and posted his interview with Talarico on YouTube. The ensuing publicity boosted Talarico\u2019s profile, brought in millions in contributions, and allowed Colbert to continue to pose as a martyr when we all know he\u2019s a failure, losing CBS $40 million per year.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
