The United States military reportedly deployed Tomahawk missiles and new \u201cone-way\u201d attack drones during its opening strikes against the Islamist regime in Iran on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Iran\u2019s air defence systems were reportedly \u201ceffectively suppressed\u201d by a \u201cmulti geographic command and control\u201d strategy that was designed to \u201coverwhelm Iran\u2019s defenses,\u201d U.S. officials said, according<\/a>\u00a0to Chief National Security Correspondent for Fox News Jennifer Griffin.<\/p>\n Griffin reported that in the strikes launched by President Donald Trump, the U.S. military used new capabilities, including \u201cone-way attack drones\u201d for the first time in combat alongside Tomahawk missiles during the initial wave of strikes.<\/p>\n She said that the strikes focused on \u201chigh value targets\u201d such as Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) facilities, Naval sites, and \u201cunderground facilities\u201d likely linked to the nation\u2019s nuclear programme.<\/p>\n \u201cThere were hundreds of targets in what is being described to me as a multi-day operation,\u201d Griffin reported, adding that U.S. officials claimed that the Iranian response has so far been \u201cineffective\u201d and that the strikes have \u201ceffectively suppressed their air defenses.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS), the combined strikes conducted by the United States and Israel have so far hit over 20 provinces within the country, London\u2019s Daily Telegraph <\/em> reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Iranian government spokeswoman, Fatemeh Mohajerani, said <\/a> per state media that Tehran\u2019s Ministry of Petroleum has arranged for \u201cmobile gas stations\u201d along transportation routes out of the capital city for people seeking to evacuate.<\/p>\n
