“F1: The Movie” won the top prize for a live action feature from the Cinema Audio Society’s CAS Awards at a ceremony held in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, March 7.
The CAS Awards, now in their 62nd year, celebrates sound mixers and the specialized craft of sound mixing in both film and television. Among the other awards recipients, “The Pitt” won for a One Hour TV Series, “Becoming Led Zeppelin” won for a documentary, “Adolescence” won for Non-Theatrical Motion Picture or Limited Series, “Billy Joel: And So It Goes” won for a non-fiction music special, “KPop Demon Hunters” won for the animated motion picture category, and “The Studio” won for a half hour TV series.
CAS also gave honorary prizes to “Frankenstein” director Guillermo del Toro as the filmmaker award and to “Gravity” and “No Country for Old Men” sound master Skip Lievsay for the career achievement award.
