Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone Universe Enters a New Era With ‘Dutton Ranch’ First Look

For a franchise built so heavily on legacy, land, and symbols, branding matters a little more than usual in the Yellowstone universe. The Dutton name is not just a family marker in these shows — it is basically a religion, a business model, and a threat all rolled into one. That is why the latest move around Dutton Ranch feels like more than just routine marketing.

In recent days, Paramount has rebranded the old official social accounts for 1883 and 1923 into Dutton Ranch, with the Instagram account now explicitly identifying itself as “the official Instagram of Dutton Ranch” and noting that it was “formerly #1883TV and #1923TV.” A follow-up post then debuted a new image of the Dutton Ranch brand on a white barn door with the caption, “NEW BRAND.”

That is the controversial part. Instead of leaning on the more familiar Yellowstone visual identity as-is, the Beth-and-Rip sequel is already carving out its own lane with a fresh label and a separate branded rollout. For some fans, that is exciting. For others, it is a little jarring. The logo features an overlapping D & R, which is a true sign that the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, as fans know it, is dead. The cast is led by Kelly Reilly as Beth Dutton, Cole Hauser as Rip Wheeler, and Finn Little as Carter, with Annette Bening as Beulah Jackson, Ed Harris, Jai Courtney, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Juan Pablo Raba, and J.R. Villarreal joining the ensemble. Filming on the show’s inaugural season has also reportedly wrapped.

What Else Is Happening With ‘Yellowstone’?

What makes the branding change even more noticeable is that Dutton Ranch is already being teased inside the wider TV universe too. In Marshals Episode 2, Kayce tells Tate that “Rip found some hands” to look after East Camp, subtly keeping Beth and Rip active in the world even before their own show arrives. It was also reported that Marshals showrunner Spencer Hudnut has left the door open to characters from the broader Yellowstone universe popping up, specifically noting that Kayce still has Beth and Rip “out there,” even if he is not yet sure how that crossover would work.

“We have a couple of characters who will pop up this season who are from [the ‘Yellowstone’] universe. You know, Kayce still has a sister and brother-in-law who are out there, so, that’s always potentially on the horizon. I don’t know how we would make all that work.”

Marshals airs every Sunday night on CBS and has already been renewed for Season 2, while Dutton Ranch does not yet have a release date. Both will be streamable on Paramount+.
