Rachaad White Gets a Chance to Rebound in Fantasy Football

Rachaad White agreed to a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders after posting 572 ground yards, four rushing touchdowns, 40 catches, and 218 receiving yards in Tampa Bay last year. Although his per-game utility and production dipped, White’s versatility remained evident.

The fit makes sense for Washington. Brian Robinson Jr. was traded to San Francisco before the 2025 season, Austin Ekeler entered free agency this month after a torn Achilles, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. signed with Jacksonville earlier this week. That left Jacory Croskey-Merritt as the only notable in-house option, so White steps into a backfield with real opportunity instead of a crowded depth chart.

The reunion with Jayden Daniels also adds some familiarity, as the two played together at Arizona State, which should come in handy in the short-area passing game. JCM is far from a complete back, and White is all but guaranteed at least a third-down role.

How to Value Rachaad White in 2026 Fantasy Drafts

While this is about as good of an outcome as fantasy gamers could have hoped for, White still looks more likely to work as a committee back and receiving option than as a workhorse. That reality makes him more appealing in PPR leagues than in touchdown-heavy formats. Even still, he should have a legitimate chance to carve out a weekly flex role, and there’s even a chance for consistent RB2 offerings if Croskey-Merritt once again fails to live up to the 2025 preseason hype that left fantasy owners holding the bag.
